We stayed in the back unit (separate from the owner's house) and had a large and bright apartment to enjoy. The beach is just across the road so could enjoy both evening and morning strolls easily. We requested the hot breakfast (not included in the rate) and it was delivered to our room piping hot and was substantial. Would be... More

After finding this lodging on Trip Advisor we bookedfor one night after driving over from Gisbourne - it was so worth while and we regret not planning on two nights there. We could have ventured out with our picnic from. there and returned Although Jan was away Maureen cooked us a wonderful snapper dinner and made us feel so welcome.... More

This stay had a little of everything from a plumbing issue and issues with the TV reception to a fantastic location and absolutely wonderful meals (dinner and breakfast). At the time we visited, the owners were away and there was a substitute manager. She tried to correct the plumbing issue without success. The location was great allowing us nice walks... More

It was further east than I expected. We didn't arrive til rght on dusk but unpacked and were very comfortable for the night. Enjoyed a lovely walk along the beach before heading east after breakfast. One small problem with the shower plumbing not draining but host let us shower upstairs in her home.

This area was one of the most scenic and least crowded places we visited. We loved it. However, there are few tourist facilities. Take your food and other necessities with you. The unit was not luxurious, but it was very clean and well furnished. Let Jan cook for you as much as she will! She’s a better cook than you... More

this motel was our first stop on a trip around the east cape, the setting is amazing, right near the beach and very tranquil; nice clean accomodation and a warm welcome by the owner.

It all started off with a hard month of work. And my wife and I needed a get away. We heard of Waihaubay being one of the best fishing spots in the country for all fishing types. So we did a search on Waihaubay and Oceanside apartments came up. So we rang and placed a booking. We arrived at Oceanside... More

Recently had the pleasure of staying at Oceanside Apartments. I stayed in a two bedroom unit and the view outside to the beach across the road was just so relaxing I could have stayed there for quite some time. The owners greeted me with genuine pleasure and their friendly dog completed the welcoming party. My unit was light, fresh, clean,... More

Oceanside Apartments was the first stop-over on our trip round the East Coast and what a fantastic choice. Very comfortable, spacious, and exceptionaly clean and the hospitality was wonderful. Jan cooked a beautiful seafood meal so all in all, a great stop which we would highly recommend. Both she and Barry made us feel extremely welcome.

My wife and I had a great experience with Barry and Jan Sanford the proprietors . We had intended to stay one night and were pleased to be able to extend it to two. The weather turned for the worse but the food and hospitality were exceptional. We are sorry that we were unable to dive or fish due to... More
