This hotel is situated at a very unique location, with magnificent view. Rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant in my opinion is expensive for the average quality of food which is served. It may not be a habit in Andalucia to serve drinks in clean glasses, but here glasses were really filthy. On top of that, it is quite... More

Dear Folker Thanks for your comments here on trypadvisor, I am glad you apreciated the views and location from top of the montain they are certainly great, sometimes in the Sierras there can be some wind and natural forces, this creates a felling of comfort being inside a warm bed and with the heating on, the windows have double closing... This hotel was a complete surprise, but truly very nice, very well kept, and lovely. It is in a beautiful, quiet place, perfect for hiking, quiet reading. The spa isn´t a full service spa, it is more a jacuzzi, but really nice. All the people who work at the hotel are very kind and try to make everyone feel welcome.The... More

I have stayed there many times and have returned even more often for lunches and dinners when we stayed at our own house in the region. This hotel and restaurant is worth travelling to. The people are extremely friendly. Views from the hotel are just amazing. The food is very nice and they have great wines to offer as well.... More

Hotel Cerro de Hijar is in a stunning location. The winding road leading up from Tolox town just fabulous and there at the top the lovely looking hotel sits with fabulous views. But it went downhill from there. There was no-one around, the service wasn´t particularly polite or helpful when it arrived and the lounge where we sat with our... More

A review is about words. But sometimes words aren't enough to describe scenery, sensations, smells. Cerro de Hijar in Tolox is a very, very special place. It is difficult to find - which is probably no bad thing as part of its magic is where it is - but once discovered the stunning location, the stillness, the clean air all... More

I will not write about the hotel even though we stayed there last year and came back to have Sunday lunch after goodly climb up from the hotel. It was a glorious day, very few walkers, silence, stunning views from the top. Lunch was great too, cuisine worthy of an expensive restaurant. Food was cooked to perfection, I even had a dessert... More

Spectacular position, 3.5km up a winding steepish road from Tolox. We stayed for 4 nights. The hotel has a really relaxed feel to it. The rooms are stone floored and the corridors quite echoey, and you can hear exactly what is happening next door. On one side we had what sounded like a washing machine which worked through most nights... More

On this great location, on top of the mountain, looking down at the small city Tolox the silence is overwhelming. The hotel is a beautifull building and well maintained, as well as the beautiful garden and swimming pool. Then the hospitality, the service and the food is great as well. Everything i asked for was no problem at all. You... More

Don't expect armies of staff, vogue styling, perfect decor and a rammed bar: if this is important to you go elsewhere. If you want a charming country hotel in an amazing out of the way location, inexpensive rates with great food and personal service this is for you.
