We recently spent three weeks touring South Africa on two motorcycles and our first night out of Somerset West was spent in Lambert's Bay. The hotel is centrally situated and within walking distance of the beach, some excellent restaurants, banking facilities, and the local Spar. The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our room situated off the courtyard at... More

Hotel very central, walking distance to most restaurants, the habour and shops. Staff very friendly whilst rooms are comfortable and spacious. Breakfast of good quality, generally a very relaxing and comfortable stay.

I recently stayed at Lambert's Bay Hotel for two nights at the conclusion of a five-week trip throughout South Africa. I chose the hotel because of the recommendation in Lonely Planet. They describe the hotel and its staff as "friendly" and that is by far the best way to describe the Lambert's Bay Hotel. Situatied almost on top of the... More

Stayed 1 night as part of a tour. This hotel is ancient, but it provided us with everything we needed for a comfortable night. The one problem we had was that the water has a tendancy to be brownish for a while, it seems to be due to the overall water system in Lamberts Bay. Well, this is what we... More

This hotel needs total refurbishment. The rooms were basic and shabby but at least the room rate reflects the poor condition. The restaurant staff were very friendly. Dinner was basic. Breakfast the usual hotel stuff. Very glad we had only booked in for one night. I wouldn't like to stay there again unless the hotel was totally refurbished

We were in the process of extensive renovations and since this hotel was built in 1888 we realise it will be an ongoing process forever, but do ungrade and renovate as we have the funds available. We also do employ 30 people in a town where unemployment is a huge problem. More

We arrived at the Lambert's Bay Hotel on a Saturday evening with no reservation. We were greeted by charming staff on reception who gave us a discount on our room as we stayed for three nights. The location is fantastic - right on the main road running along the waterfront. There is secure parking and the police station is next... More

The Lamberts Bay Hotel was definitely the poorest establishment we stayed at during our road trip through Namibia and the Northern Cape of South Africa. The hotel was totally overrun by a group of bikers that smoked up a storm in the lobby area causing the entire hotel to reek of cigarette smoke. We complained about the cigarette smoke stench...
