Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stuart and Susan couldn't have been more delightful. We arrived wet, tired and cold after a long cycle from Inverness while doing the North Coast 500 and they were so kind. Freshly baked cake, a drink and a warm bath were very welcome. The building is beautiful, the rooms spacious, clean and very comfortable. Set right against the loch, the setting is lovely and there are good places to eat in the village. Our only regret was we didn't stay longer. Definitely one of our favourite stops on the North Coast 500 circuit.

The building alone, lovingly cared for, is an encouraging start. In a quiet corner of a quiet village (complete with a couple of promising restaurants) and an amazing view over Loch Carron, this is a great place to stay. But stays are not made by the buildings alone. This is the west coast of Scotland: the owners are obviously used to cold and wet cyclists arriving on their doorstep. The welcome was warm and friendly. The hospitality was generous and supportive: cold, soggy clothes and waterlogged shoes were taken to dry without needing to ask. A warming shower and a piece of freshly baked cake - delicious - made us very happy and contented! Good B&Bs would do all of these things, of course: good bed, good breakfast! Excellent B&Bs offer spontaneous acts of kindness, too. It was a chilly and wet evening and the village (and the restaurant) were a 15 minute walk away. Their offer of a lift (especially on his birthday!) was one such act. (The rain had stopped and the late evening was pleasant when we came out of the restaurant, so we enjoyed a walk back. But we were offered and the offer was greatly appreciated. For one I would have no hesitation about booking another stay at the Old Manse.

This is a stunning location right beside the loch. The rooms were immaculate, delicious food and on top of that the hosts (Stuart and susan) were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They couldn't do enough to help make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Best sleep I've had in months! We would definitely return and highly recommend staying here.

Warm welcome from landlady, who advises of all the local places to have a local meal, prior to our arrival. She also provided fresh milk and cake on arrival. The room was large and very clean and tastefully decorated with stunning views over loch carron, breakfast was very good, we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again. The views over the loch were stunning

We stayed 3 nights here, in a twin room. It was exceptionally good value, and the hosts cannot do enough for you. Absolutely idyllic setting. The deer in the garden made my day! Great location on the edge of the loch.

This review is a little late but once again our visit to Old Manse B&B was fantastic. Stuart and Susan went above and beyond for us. We were provided with packed lunch and also evening meals as many places were still closed due to COVID restrictions. The rooms are very comfortable and the service excellent. I cannot recommend the Old Manse highly enough. Looking forward to returning in September.

We spent 2 nights at the Old Manse and we absolutely loved it. The guests Susan & Stuart were very welcoming and made sure we didn’t have anything missing on our stay. We could pick from a big selection of dishes for our breakfast and it was delicious. The B&B overlooks on the Loch and it’s in such a pretty location. I highly recommend this place if you’re planning for a day visit to Skye, applecross, torridon or even just to relax by the Loch.
