Myself and 4 mates stayed at the Allargue Arms in February and from start to finish it was an absolute blast! Whether it be from having a drink and a game of pool, to having breakfast, to organising our days out Euan (the owner) was more than happy to help out. The rooms are basic but cleaned every day, there's... More

Well, it's been eight months and I've been avoiding writing this review ever since my stay. Why? I've been trying hard to think of a phrase which doesn't use the Americanism 'conflicted', and I can't , because that's exactly how I feel. I arrived on Bonfire night. The girl who took my booking advised me that rooms weren't available that... More

If you ever fancy visiting this neck of the woods you won't come across much better hospitality. I came across it inadvertantly as I (unsuccessfully) tried to make my way to Inverness. Inside it might look basic, but Euan is a brilliant host and a superb cook. Highly recommended.

This is a traditional Scottish Pub/Hotel providing excellent value for money and great food. Portions are generous to say the least, and simply prepared from high quality local materials, and there's a great choice on the menu. The Monkfish Tails and Rib-Eye Steak were excellent indeed, and the traditional Scottish breakfast should set you up for the rest of the... More

Stayed here for 1 night this month. Previous reviewer is right about the stink as you go up the stairs, like old damp carpet. Bedroom small and luckily at the back so avoided noisy bar full of young local lads. Food was good but same barmaid was waitress and breakfast host and seemingly chef next morning. But bedroom only had... More

The website was impressive and we actually had no other choice of accommodation in the area. The online booking system appeared not to have worked but a room was available. Our room was clean enough if a bit tired, although we had to go up a very smelly staircase/landing to reach it. One of the open rooms on the ground... More

Basic country pub/hotel/restaurant. Needs a little TLC as far as the decor is concerned but this fades into the background when the food comes. Very well cooked and fresh. Basic menus but with not too many choices. (some places give you hundreds to choose from but little quality. The service was just right, not intrusive but attentive. Prices very reasonalble... More

The hotel is set within the beautiful surroundings overlooking Corgarff which was an added bonus. Very friendly, welcoming staff. Overall hospitality excellent. Would highly recommend the 'steak' which the landlord cooks to perfection. Anyone visiting this area or just passing through should drop in and enjoy the hospitality of Allargue Arms.
