Have been occasionally to this pub, went again for a change. Now we remember why we didn't rush back the first time round. The bar maid was ok, but whe we came to order the food the landlord Who took the order for food had clearly had a drink. He wasn't rude but not what you expect from the bar... More

Attending a course nearby so along with a couple of friends, popped in to this attractive looking public house for a pint. The bar / restauarant area is nice enough and our intention was to stay for dinner, from what appeared to be a tasty looking steak menu. However, our evening went rapidly downhill: firstly the disinterested barmaid, sullenly advising... More

I went to the Three Horseshoes for the first time with some girlfriends for lunch on a Friday, so I can't comment on the hotel. However, I'd assume that the restaurant (it's effectively a pub) is the same across the board, resident or otherwise. I thought the restaurant a little grubby and tired. Our table was 'sticky'. Always a bad... More

Overall smell of damp in the room. Bathroom disgusting with black grout and generally grubby. Towels stained. No cold water in sink. Carpets stained. Pillows lumpy. Poor breakfast. We had booked for two nights but left after one. Only good thing was the meal we had in the pub!

This pub serves fantastic, great value food. The rooms are nicely presented, clean and tidy. Tea & coffee making facilities. Super hot shower. The inclusive breakfast was great - toast & jams, cereal, yoghurt, juices, fresh fruit and tea/coffee. My husband paid for a full English breakfast and was not disappointed, very tasty. The only sounds we heard were the... More

Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and showed me to my chalet style room. The room style is taken from a 1970's Butlins. The room was FREEZING!!!! I had confirmed my arrival time, so would expect the heating to have been on with an outside temperature of -2. The single heater was ineffective and noisy. The bathroom was basic... More

I know this pub of old and visited it many times over the years. Having not been there for some time I was keen to get back but what a disappointment! From a genuine old pub to a tarted up gastro experience.....it has been comprehensively ruined. All blonde wood and spotlights: what an abysmal despoiling. English Heritage should stop this... More

We stayed one night and was suprised by what you got in terms of accommodation & breakfast for £50.00. The room was a good size but the carpet was dirty; the room was freezing, the tv was no bigger than a laptop, the sheet had a tear in, and the bathroom, although clean could do with a serious overhaul. The... More

This review is based on a meal in the hotel restaurant only. The pub is pleasant with good decor and a nice atmosphere. The menu is heavily based around steak dishes with wide selection and the pub seems to pride itself on serving a good steak. Unfortunately, this is where the good news ends, we ordered a medium rare and... More
