We had dinner at Summer Lodge last night with my lovely mother in law to celebrate her birthday. The drawing room was beautiful where we had pre dinner drinks. The staff are amazing. This is by far one of the best weekends away! If you have no budget and want an amazing relaxed weekend away this is for you. Firstly they upgraded us just to be nice. We stayed for just one night but it seemed much longer. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. The room was delightful, the staff really couldn't do enough for us and the food was outstanding. Eric, the sommelier, found us an excellent bottle of red from a small US vineyard that we had never heard of. Excellent!

One of the other reviewers wrote “Perfect English Countryside Hotel” and I really cannot disagree with them. Understated in appearance over delivered on expectations. Faults ? Um ...................... Just trying to find an excuse to return.

This is "the place" to go to get a real "away from it all" experience. The ambience is perfect with a quiet rural location giving a very peaceful setting.
