My wife and daughter and I stayed at La Cusinga for three days and nights, May 7-9. Our time there was an unforgettable experience at the end of a ten-day Costa Rican tour, and we found it to be a perfect way to end our adventure. We found La Cusinga on Tripadvisor, and picked it out due to so many... More

I loved La Cusinga, We had a beautiful experience. The view is amazing, birds, monkeys, and Pacific Ocean were exceptional. Hiking the trails in the hotel we saw toucans and many, many other beautiful birds as well, in addition to howler monkeys. The staff was totally friendly and always smiling and helpful. The food was always taste and fresh Organic.... More

We were due a 4night stay at La Cusinga, but ended up with just one night. A combination of a very bad dinner followed by scorpion and cockroach in the bedroom meant we re thought our plans and relocated to Manuel Antonio. On a plus side, the staff are really friendly and there are lots of birds in the grounds,... More

La Cusinga is a beautiful, simple property with expansive ocean views from the main deck. The food is fresh and wonderful and also simple. Think fish with a tasty sauce or salsa on the side, delicious soups and salad, grilled vegetables, home made corn tortillas and home made ice cream, etc. There are several hiking trails through rain forest-- shoes... My 10-year old daughter and I absolutely loved La Cusinga. I thought Costa Rica would be a once-in-a-lifetime trip, but after going to La Cusinga, I have to go back again. This place is incredibly thoughtful. It is beautiful, clean, simple, sustainable, no frills. The food is the best I've ever had--true, real, fresh, delicious Costa Rican food. I am... More

I absolutely loved our time at La Cusinga but I want folks to understand, really, the experience they are signing up for! It isn't your completely pampered hotel experience you might find elsewhere but it is a slice of beautiful rest in a completely special country. I want to say that, first off, the hotel staff and customer service we... More

My husband and I stayed at La Cusinga Lodge, as part of out honeymoon in Costa Rica. The good reviews on Tripadvisor and the fact that it was the highest price we paid in the whole trip (140$ per night after discount) made us book a room for 3 nights, thinking it would be a good place to indulge ourselves.... This place is incredible. Saw more wildlife here than anywhere else. Peaceful and quiet. The forest and trails, the ocean views, the accommodations all were terrific. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. You have to be able to walk up and down hills and navigate rocky paths--not good for small children or anyone who has trouble walking. No air... More

We had our private viewing platform off our bed room deck: Howler Monkeys, White face Monkeys, a Tayra, many many types of birds.
