We liked the calm atmosphere, the nice pool and the friendly staff. The restaurant was mediocre, but the place was just what we needed after our trips to the many nearby ruins. The rooms are splendid. We especially enjoyed that the remain cool and ventilated without the noisy air conditioning that other less well constructed places resort to. The Eco... More

Beautiful location if you like nature and archaeology . Nice terrace and room. Very unhelpful and weird receptionist. When we arrived the hotel was empty. After 1 hr a group of 20 noisy Germans arrived and they put them next door. They got up at 5 o'clock AM and they woke us up!!! Also a bit pricey. More

Don't expact to much. The people who work in Eco Village looked bored and that says enough. The place is not in good shape well they try with à new swimmingpool but that's it. The room is okay with no airco. We stayed here one night and that was more than enough More

We stayed here only one night on the way to Calakmul and after a long but rewarding day visiting the local ruins. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. Very nice rooms, a lovely balcony, new pool and close enough to the entrance of Calakmul to make the trip fairly easy. The only negative comment is that the food was... More

We arrived down a very bumpy dirt road to the resort, which was very quiet (we saw no other people) and seemed like it was only half-heartedly operating. The pool, which was small, was univiting with leaves floating everywhere and a run-down appearance. The staff were friendly which was a nice welcome and clearly an 'eco' concept had been applied... We stayed there for two nights, and this is by far the worst hotel experience we had in Mexico. The rooms are nice, spacious and clean, and this is pretty much it. The hotel employees attitude ranges form uninterested to unfriendly. These guys do not seem to be managed in any sort of way! Once there, you've got very little... More

We reserved our room through Hotels.com, so we got an excellent rate ($50 USD) per night. The listed price at the desk would be about $140 per night. This location is owned by Best Western. The hotel/village is located in the midst of the biosphere and is an interesting layout. There are numerous two story buildings of which each contain... More

This hotel is ok; the rooms are roomy & very clean. The shower is good and we had warm water the whole time. We had a room near the restaurant and that was a bit nozy (generator and cleaning sounds). Because of the lay-out of the ressort, all the rooms will have this problem but if you can, get a... More

Where do I start? Letter to the owner: You have a wonderful opportunity here for a world-class ecologically-sensitive center to the amazing Rio Bec ruins, why not take advantage of this, instead of your gaspingly expensive Holiday Inn'ish generic tour-bus hotel spread, that is "eco" in name only? With the northern Yucatan quickly becoming overwrought with tourists and the Cancun-Tulum... More

Checked out Rio Bec Dreams and this hotel, and decided on this place. Rio Bec has the tours and the Canadian owner seems to be THE person to take you places you can't get without a 4WD or on your own. Rio Bec is MUCH more rustic, and not really in a cute way, but when I go back I... More
