We spent four nights at The Temple and were very pleased with the food, friendly owners and staff, really personal service, lovely views over the Derwent valley ..... the whole experience was a pleasure!

This is an old hotel which is being gradually refurbished. All the hotel wether refurbished or not has character and is very pleasant. Stayed for 2 nights in a twin room with views up to the Heights of Abraham. Clean and comfortable hotel. Breakfast was good and the staff friendly. Cosy bar with a welcoming log fire. Walking back to the hotel from the town is quite a challenge, with a steep hill to conquer.

Excellent stay best whiskey menu in the bar ive seen this side of Scotland super breakfast and great dinner it must be homemade as they altered my desert to suit my tastes super all round with great firework display will be returning

We stayed here just one night and while the room we stayed in was a little outdated (including bathroom) it was clean and comfortable.
