The first time I was at Erta I thought "wow", do places like these really exist? It is a peaceful, rustic and exclusive place. I recommend it highly. The self produced wine is excellent and the vineyards well kept. A terrace with a fantastic view is a place which inspires romantic thoughts and sunsets are among the best ones ever... More

We has a tour of wine making and dinner while staying at Casole Di Casole. Hidden down a country road but close to home, was a small 800 bottle wine maker who also cooks dinner in his own kitchen 3 nights a week. A true Tuscan experance. Great dinner and wine in a unforgettable landscape.

This was our ninth trip to Erta in nine years. This is a fantastic location, the accomodation is great, with pool, and as one other reviewer has said, the host Varno cooks an optional Tuscan meal for 2 nights each week and then typically on Fridays makes and cooks a succession of 11 (I think) types of pizza in his... Erta has a wonderful position, set on a hillside with amazing views of the Tusan hills and superb sunsets. It is fifteen minutes from Casole, 40 minutes from Siena and 1hr from Florence. This was our first visit to an agriturismo and we were very impressed by the hospitality shown to us by our Italian hosts, Varno Spinelli and family.... More
