Staying in the old town is a beautiful experience, seeing it from early morning till late night. Unfortunately, hotels there are either very expensive or glorified hostels. Spot is easy on the eye and family-run. Yes it is quite basic in some aspects but you could do a lot worse

Our hearts sank when we found, the day before leaving for our holiday, that the Greek ferries were on strike - including the ferry to Symi from Rhodes that we had booked to get straight onto.
