This was definitely the worst night of one month in Malaysia. The rooms are clean but the bed is horrible with iron steels coming out of the mattress everywhere. I have stayed at Shalini's Guest House before, but that was before a fire destroyed the old building. Since the Kumar Family has rebuilt the guest house (in the old style but with improvements). The result is a nice guest house which is clean and has all new amenities.

Everything new , very clean , small kitchen on the ground floor . Attention - water in the sea around Penang extra dirty for swimming also on Batu Ferringhi ! Swimming imposible and even harmful !

Shalini's Guest House has recently been rebuilt after fire raged through this property (and properties around it), hence everything being new. The only negative I can think of it the volume of the speakers of the mosque behind it. Otherwise I believe it to be one of the better properties on Batu Ferringhi beach.

Nice twin room with good aircon and excellent location on a nice quiet-ish beach for 80myr/night. Guest house owners are friendly and speak decent English. Only slight annoyance is that they lock up early at night and then to get in you need to unlock and relock about 5 padlocks. Recommended for anybody looking for a cheap but cheerful room... More
