My partner and I were planning a road trip around the Western Cape. We decided to stop for one night in Montagu and in browsing accommodation options online, we stumbled across Aasvoelkrans. Seeing the photos it looked full of character with wonderful artwork sprinkled throughout. The rooms are small self-contained cottages with tea/coffee making facilities. The swimming pool was lovely,... More

The rooms are beautiful with colourful pictures and flowers everywhere. The rooms are all separate and private and surrounded by wonderful colourful gardens with lots of places to sit and relax in sun or shade. Jeanne is happy to recommend places to go and restaurants to visit, and there are many great wineries in the area. Breakfast is delicious and... More

Montagu is a perfect location for a peaceful stay and we reckon we had chosen the best of the best. Jeanne runs a very arty bed and breakfast in a beautiful setting. She and her husband Tim live in the main house where breakfast is served and there are another four separate apartments. The gardens are colourful and when we... More

Thanks Jeanne! We had an awesome stay. Made ourselves a lovely lunch in a beautifully equiped outdoor kitchenette which we enjoyed in this little paradise right in front of our cottage. It is impossible not to feel good after spending time in surroundings like this with the horse paddocks, stunning mountainous backdrops and a garden right out of the Chelsea... More

Having visited the area on numerous occasions we were astount by the rude, unprofessional and shocking treatment we received from the hostess and owner, Jeanne. We booked for a 3 night stay and had to cancel due to the flooding and unsave roads leading into Montagu. Eventhough we apologised on more than one occasion AND offered to forfeit our 100%... More

We just spent 3 nights at Aasvoelkrans and could not have asked for a better experience. Things we loved: * Jeanne's dry and wonderful wit * The chickens in the garden that laid the eggs for our breakfast * The modern but cozy architecture--custom-designed by Jeanne's architect daughter * The quirky and creative decor * The expansive garden, with chairs... My partner and I recently stayed with Jeanne at Aasvoelkrans and we had a lovely relaxing weekend in Montagu. Jeanne was very helpful recommending restaurants and interesting spots to see during our stay. I highly recommend Aasvoelkrans if you plan to visit the quiet little town of Montagu, Western Cape. Driving from Cape Town towards the Karoo desert you experience a tremendous nature and it's wonderful to be part thereof. But miles and miles further you ask yourself where to stay......we have been that fortunate to end up at Jeanne's place; not for a night as planned but extended our stay with another two nights purely based on the nice...
