Once you get past the astonishing array of garden 'features', the hooting owls and the whistling gnomes you get a very warm welcome from Andrew who ensures that your needs are met. The house is full of a bizarre collection of ornaments which make every shelf and corner a source of interest. Andrew gave us a string of recommendations for... More

This house is a lot of fun. Andrew is a lovely, attentive host and will go to the ends of the earth to make sure your stay is comfortable and to your liking. His quirky garden is entertaining and the house is spotless. The house has recently received a complete refurbishment and Andrew is justifiably proud of it. Breakfast was... More

This was not my first time staying at the Moorings. However it was refreshing to see how proud Andrew was of his latest refurbishments (new carpets, landscaped gardens), not that it needed it in the first place, its just so very rare in this financial climate to see a prospering B&B. The Moorings still kept its quirkiness that makes it... More

This was our second visit after a year and we found it just as we remembered - a warm welcome from Andrew, beautiful rooms, impeccably clean, overlooking the harbour. It felt just like home. Andrew has just finished a major refurbishment and redecoration and the results are simply charming. Again the hearty breakfast in the luxurious dining room was a... More

After trying the Anchor Hotel, who were fully booked, they suggested we tried The Moorings.......we're glad they did! I stayed here with my wife and her family for one night. Every one of us was raving about how much we enjoyed our visit to the Moorings after we left. We usually opt for hotels but staying here will make us think again in the future. Andrew the owner is a true west coast character and is a fabulous... More
