Just 10 min drive from the town of Tarbert, we enjoyed our stay here and would return again. Our room had a good view of the loch and the common rooms had an impressive feel. The grounds were also quiet and good for a morning or evening walk.. We didn't eat at the restaurant for dinner as prices seemed high... More

A long drive to get to Tarbert but first glimpse is stunning. We were there on a classic britain weekend. A previous reviewer mentioned damp patches which we had but as it's in a castle who cares. We ran a bath which filled in about 30 secs.Wow. When we brushed our teeth however the cold tap was scalding. When I mentioned... More

Stayed in this wonderfully situated hotel with breathtaking views over Loch Fyne. Friendly staff, with good service. Very good food but we did feel this was a little over Priced especially seeing the fantastic seafood is on the doorstep. Resturants is a little dated but the views more than make up for this.

We stayed here as part of a tour group. The hotel drive and the castle were impressive on arrival. We were greeted at the doors and given our keys. The log fire also impressed us as we were cold! Then, having arrived to the door of our room, we were so disappointed because it was quite small. We also had... More

We stayed fro two nights at stone field castle. Arrival at the castle was amazing, and the drive through the gardens to the main house already has us impressed. We were greeted with amazing staff from the off, and the service during our stay was impeccable. We experienced a power cut during dinner on the first night; which was no... More

We stayed here for 2 nights for a short break and very much enjoyed it. The hotel is in a STUNNING setting on the west shore of Loch Fyne, north of Tarbert. Some of the rooms are a bit tired and in need of decor, but it was warm, comfortable and had plenty of charm. The staff were friendly and... More

Our second stay, this time for two nights to take in a day trip to Islay. The atmospheric ambience and location are excellent, the service and attitude of staff very good indeed. Evening meals and breakfasts could not be faulted. To be nit-picking, it could do with a bit of TLC in places - quite a few small room fittings... More

I booked this hotel for my boyfriends birthday we arrived on Tuesday 10th April and left on Thursday the 12th April. As soon we drove up to the front of the hotel/castle we knew we were going to love this place. We got upgraded to a Loch View room as I requested this when I booked the room and they... More

First visit to Stonefield Castle in March and it certainly won't be our last. Only downside we did not get a Loch view though our friends did. Fantastic surroundings and the food was delicious. Staff were very polite and helpful. Perfect place for a romantic break.

An impressive driveway lined with rhododendrons fully in flower, lead to the imposing frontage of the hotel. Check in was smooth and we were shown to our ground floor twin room with loch views, beyond a mix of trees and shrubbery in the hotel's grounds. A warm average sized room with ensuite bathroom with shower over, was adequate but when... More
