We spent 2 nights here as we walked along Hadrian's Wall. The B&B is about 1 mile north of the Steel Rigg car park, so not much of a diversion, but the owners are also willing to pick up and drop off hikers. We stayed in room 11 which was spacious with the 4-poster queen sized bed I've read about... More

What a find, beautiful accommodation (four poster), and what must be an award winning restaurant each year. You are left to mingle, or relax on own, in beautiful location, what more could a walker ask for?

A great place where the welcome was warm, the room was great (a big four poster!) and the food amazing. The dog was allowed to be with us in all rooms, there was a bar and a superb lounge with huge comfy sofas. The owners were very helpful and offered lifts back to your starting point which was good as... More

The time we spend here was fantastic. Cath her husband and all the staff went out of their way for us.The food was excellent, huge choice and rooms spotless. We had an unfortunate incident with our dog and Cath looked after us tremendously, picked us up at the vets took my husband to the train station can;t fault the hospitality... More

We used this as a short base for a couple of days walking the Wall. A lucky but brilliant choice. Spacious room even a four poster!! One of the best meals we've ever enjoyed & they even have a bar. We were a bit worried on the drive down to the Farm once we got the other side of the... More

Not much of a welcome when we arrived in fact we couldn't find anyone! When we were shown our room we felt it was in need of redecoration and a good clean. We feel the owners have lost interest. The setting of this B&B does not warrant an `a la carte` menu. Breakfast was ok but the staff were very... More

Thank you for your feedback on your stay .We are very sorry you couldnt find anything at all positive as we felt we had done our best for you and your wife.Unfortunately our portable bell to alert us when you arrived had been left in another part of the building. However we were ,at the time of your arrival,in the kitchen... We had my husband's birthday party here. We used the whole place and had a wonderful time. All our guests loved their rooms including those using the pod which is very cosy The beds are comfy and all 30 of us slept well! It was the perfect venue for us as everyone had en suite facilities and we had large... More

We arrived here after Kath kindly picked us up after walking in a blizzard. Lovely home made cake with tea in a cosy lounge. Great seige like atmosphere as the weather had been so terrible - Kath spent all night/morning drying everybody's kit. We could sit with other walkers and enjoyed having our dog flake out on the floor next... More

Great place to stay after a long day's walk. Bed was extremely comfy, shower hot and powerful, lovely evening meal with a pint from the bar and all topped off with great service and a cheery smile from Kath and her team. Exactly what you want from a walking B&B, great value for money. Thanks Kath!
