We were just staying one night B&B and arrived in the rain couldn't get in the front - not a great start - went around the back (as intructed... More

I am not surprised at some of the reviews on here as some people are never happy and go out of their way not to enjoy themselves, if you want 5 star accommodation go stay at the Hyatt or a similar chain of hotels, yes the rooms are immaculate the service is perfect but the rooms are exactly the same... We booked the night before and were told the proprietor would not be able to greet us due to a party that day but clear instructions were given as to where to find the key and how to get to the room. We were happy with this as we were warned in advance. The night we visited no food was... More

Would recommend this lovely family run hotel. Staff made our stay very welcoming and ensured our 3 year daughter had a lovely adventure at their hotel. Very flexible about breakfast which helps when travelling with a young child. They also gave excellent advice on interesting places to visit nearby. Facilities clean, quirky but made you smile.

I initially booked to stay at the String of Horses (a hotel round the corner owned by the same people) through an internet site but got a phone call from Sam the following day to say that we would be staying in the Mansion House instead because the String of Horses was fully booked. I was delighted - a friend... More

I booked this "hotel" for my colleague and myself on a business trip. Before our scheduled arrival time of around 6pm, we were phoned by the proprietor informing us he may be out but would be back about 6 as it was half term and he was taking his son to football. We arrived about 5.30 and sure enough, he... More
