My wife and I stayed for almost a week in this wonerful hotel. There's not a great deal to do in Chinchon itself but the cloistered outdoor pool on a hot and sunny July day was wonderfully relaxing. We wish we had made more use of the restaurant as the food was excellent and reasonably prioced...especially when compared to some... More

I haven't stayed in this hotel but we stopped for coffee when we were visiting this lovely town. At a minimum, stop for a coffee. The hotel is a wonderful showcase for what the Spanish authorities are doing in the Paradore chain, to turn beautiful old buildings into viable places. They have restored it beautifully, you feel the peace of... More

After a two week road trip through Spain, we arrived at Parador Chinchon, just outside of Madrid and spent a lovely, elegant night in this former convent. It has been beautifully outfitted, has a very good restaurant, quiet, peaceful gardens. It was October so the pool was closed, but it is a terrific oasis before dealing with the hubbub of... More

30 km outside of Madrid but could have been 300. I was attending a small business conference here - one night but thoroughly enjoyed the venue. The Parador is an old convent refurbished to a good standard with comfortable rooms and facilities. Contrary to other reviews I thought the food was good, although breakfast could have been better. The town... More

We stayed at the Parador at Chinchon in May 2011. Chinchon is a delightful town with a main round plaza which is converted to a bullring from time to time. There are lots of restaurants, the ones above the bull ring area are very good for suckling pig and lamb. The hotel is an old convent and has masses of... More

Close, yet so far away! We chose the Parador de Chinchon because of its close proximity to Madrid, as we had an afternoon flight out the following day. Chinchon is the essence of old Spain and we loved it all. The Plaza is dirt and was set up for bull fighting during the summer months that we were there. The... More

We stayed here in June 2011. It is an absolutely lovely place not far from Madrid and the Parador is in an old Convent. All rooms are good and the views and amenities are superb. The food, when we were there was not up to scratch, however. But the management sympathised and did not charge us for the evening meal... More

This Parador is a converted convent and has been sympathetically converted to a hotel. I have stayed at a number of Paradors and although they are more or less organised around the same formula, they do differ in personality quite considerable. (in my opinion) This establishment has a nice air about it and all the facilities are well managed. It... More

We chose this Parador for the final night of our month-long self-guided tour through Spain so that we could have a relatively easy trip to Madrid's Barajas airport the next morning. On arrival, when we asked about the availability of free parking in town, we were told we could look around and might be able to find some free zones.... More

This Parador is what the Parador Chain is all about. Enchanting atmosphere with peace and calm in bundles.A converted Convent 50 metrs.from the main square of historic Chinchon with its galleried buildings and narrow alleyways.Beautiful terraced gardens with every type of cultivated fruit trees and shrubs enclose a lovely swimming pool.Clean but basic bedrooms with bathrooms to accommodate all ones...
