Panga Chumvi is a very good place for a family. The family room is just near the beach (30 meters from room to the sea) and you can see your kids play in the lagoon from your veranda of bedroom. White sand, coconut, beautiful house, charm family room wait you. Restaurant is good and the Staff is helpful. The staff... More

Panga Chumvi is a small hotel in Matemwe nestled a few miles south of the bigger resorts...but it has the same stunning Zanzibari view. For those looking for a hotel with a pool and all of the usual western amenities, look elsewhere. For those looking for a small, quaint, very very quiet hotel (that is more of an Inn), Panga... More

We spend two nights at Pango Chumvi and really enjoyed the relaxed and quiet atmosphere. We would have stayed much longer if I had more time. It is a simple place, very quiet, right on the beach (very low tide at some point of the day,but this is common to Zanzibar) but at high tide it was great to swim!... More

Ideal location for people that want to completely relax. If you are looking for nightlife, then you should look somewhere else. Matemwe beach is still unspoilt, and you can see the local people going about their business: fishing and seaweed farming. You are not hassled by anyone (that sort of thing only comes about when there are larger hotels). The... More

This is real – Panga Chumvi is a true tropical paradise. We (My husband & I) stayed for a week in January and loved the tranquillity and beauty and the warm welcome by all the staff. The resort is fairly new but it looks like it has always been there because of the traditional building style. The scenery is spectacular.... More

I went there at the beginning of Feb and really enjoyed my stay there, the food was excellent, compliments to the chef and the staff were really friendly. I stayed in a bungalow room which had natural ventilation which made for a comfortable sleep every night. Panga Chumvi is tucked away in a quiet part of Matemwe which was perfect... More

I recently stayed 2 nights at Panga Chumvi over the new years holiday weekend. The accommodations were overall very nice. I could not have asked for better scenery. The beach was nice, quiet, and very low key. The grounds manager, Wendy (originally from the UK) was VERY nice and was VERY helpful and friendly. She made sure that you had... More

Dear EA, thank you for your encouraging and positive review of our resort - I have now amended the website to include all our latest beautiful assets. The naturally ventilated bungalow has been very popular with guests, and we are thrilled at the responses we are getting. I've had a chat with Othman, who is understandably very upset to hear... We stayed at Panga Chumvi for one week with the aim of doing very little and had a really relaxing time. The atmosphere is friendly with Wendy the manager making sure we had all we needed. Each day we had our meals cooked by Sulieman, the chef who makes a range of dishes with lots of fish and calamari, he... More

We had a perfect time at Panga Chumwi where you have everything you need for a stay plus the most peaceful, quite and friendly atmosphere you can imagine. The rooms are clean, the beds are big and everything is comfortable and tasteful. You have sunbeds on the beach, hammocks in the palm tree garden and a beautiful view on the... More

Stumbled upon this isolated paradise escape (rare in Zanzibar these days!) completely by accident but would recommend it to any couple wanting a quiet, beautiful and romantic escape that doesn't break the bank. It felt like our 'fully serviced' paradise house home away from home. There are currently 3 en-suite rooms in a newly built/finished villa which is very tastefully... More
