Recenlty spent several days here and what a spot! Stunning grounds, incredible service. The current manager Niall Cowan is amazing and brings a personal touch to this marvellous resort. On-property animal orphanage and stables are a huge plus. Night-time outside fireplaces to see the stars, high teas and great views. The food is spectacular and from the front desk to... More

This resort is absolutly beautiful. The grounds, and the views are breath taking. We stayed here for two nights and were treated like royalty. We had a garden view suite with a view of the mountain, it's very roomy and tranquill, and when you come back from a wonderfull dinner they have come in a started a fire turned down... More

The hotel is set in a beautiful location with large grounds that you can safely walk in. There is a swimming pool and a small golf course. Activities such as horse riding are also available. We chose to have a riverside suite which was large with a wonderful open fire. The bathroom was also large with both a bath and... More

This is one of the high end resorts you see in movies! Well manicured lawns, a nice swimming pool with a glass hole, colourful birds. Plenty of activities - horse riding, golf, maze. The rooms are cosy with a fireplace. Advice: it gets freezing cold at night - so bring ur warms

I really enjoyed the 1 night at the Safari Club. We never got the chance to see the normal room we had booked because we were upgraded on arrival without asking for it and ended up in a really nice, big and clean cottage with bedroom and huge living room with open fire. The staff was very friendly and helpful,... More

After an arduous safari at Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru/Naivasha and Aberdares, this was the perfect BREAK before i head back home. Most people use it as a 'transit' point to Nairobi and spend only 1 night. This is a luxurious property, has a nice colonial feel to it (it apparently was a 'Hunting Lodge' back when the Britisher's colonised it)... More

We stayed in December. The staff was great very friendly and professional. The rooms are in very good shape. We stayed in the cottage which was worth the extra charge. Standard rooms are large and nicely finished. The food was good. The landscaped and the grounds are breathtaking. With Mount Kenya as the back drop. The animal orphanage on site... More

Spectacular grounds and elegant rooms, but given the amount of money that the hotel charges per night the service was terrible and food was mediocre. The staff were friendly and are trying hard but need some serious training to service a hotel of this calibre. We will not be returning.

I have been to mount Kenya s c before and was expecting its reputable excellence to shine through once again. I have to say my new year's experience was terribly disappointing. The safari club sacrificed its reputation to cater for far too many people over new year's. Consequently the service was terrible- 15 minutes for a simple soda water and... More

I have been going to mount Kenya for years as it is my favourite property in east Africa. My last visit on new years was a complete disaster. We waited for over an hour just to be served dinner on new years eve. The staff was running around in complete confusion. The manager was nowhere to be found. We had... More
