The plus of this place are great garden & outside the dinning hall, rooms are very average, old furniture, not well maintained, pretty average, food choices were quite OK, rather decent, staff are very warm, helpful, overall not recommended

Being charged 100 us dollars for a single on half board for a resident, I expected a far higher standard than that experienced. The hotel is run down and is in dire need of refurbishment, remnants of last years Christmas decorations remain sellotaped on the walls in the exterior part of the dining room. The wine display - a few... More

Might have been nice many years ago, but now phones in the rooms are only decorative as they did not work. Meals are very basic and the restaurant room is furnished like North American suburban basements in the 1960's. This was billed as a 4-5 star to our group, but it definitely is not. Might be fine for budget travel,... More

The Lake Elementaita Lodge is located in an isolated area, down a long dirt trail, near (but not on) the shore of Lake Elementaita (it is a long walk to the lake). The best part of the resort are its flower filled gardens. However, after dark the walk to the main building can be dangerous because of the broken down... More

The promised upgrade certainly hadn't happened in the rooms that we were in. Very tatty and dated. The food was awful as well. It was quiet at the lodge (just after Easter) and I think that meant they weren't refreshing food properly, but even the freshly made food was poor quality. The pool is lovely, with a beautiful view, and... More

Rooms: In blocks of three there are 33 in total. The rooms are in desperate need of re-decorating. However, they are quite large, cool and have very nice views. Each room has en-suite facilities and the bathrooms include a full size bath but the furnishings are very old and tired. Towels and toiletries are included. At time of writing, within... More

My wife and I stayed two nights here as a base for a game drive in Lake Nakuru. The lodge is an old colonial house in a wonderful location - really amazing views of Lake Elementaita and the Rift Valley. The rooms are very faded, but just about adequate. Nothing really more to say about them except they could really... More

Stayed here for two nights as part of an organised tour. It had a certain charm, and was adequate - but no more than adequate. Plus points: All the staff were friendly and helpful; lovely setting and views; pool; Masai guided walk by the lake Minus points: Rooms very small - twin beds pushed right together under a single mosquito... I have stayed at Elementaita Lodge for the past three years and am sorry to report that one of my favorite destinations in Kenya is now in decline. It was never 5-star but was always comfortable with a great view and grounds. Sadly that was then. Now the lodge and grounds are in noticeable decline, the food is poorer and... More
