What a peaceful place! Just wonderful to enjoy the quitness at the river. The Lodge is simple, but the place makes it all up, especially the staff is great - we've even had our own private lession in making baobab juice with the cook - mmh! The river cruises are really nice - both - with the motor and with... More

We(wife and I) went on the 11th March for a one night stay, it is very rural and as i expeceted accomodation wise, small semi detached huts with river access, increadible peacful place to stay however if you wish to spend no more money, the walk round the village can be short as it isnt that large. Visited the local... More

We had two nights - three days - in the lodge that we booked over the internet from the UK. The place is located about 50 km from the tourist areas and we arranged the transport to the lodge with a local guide. This was a really interesting journey and provided a fascinating view of the Gambia that few tourists... More

Went to Bintang Bolong for one night on the 11th March 2012. We are two well travelled blokes and can put up with most things. We have been visiting The Gambia for twelve years now and try and arrange an overnight trip every holiday. This lodge is on a tributary off the River Gambia and has a well produced website. We... More

This place is located a few kilometres off the main road in a small village on the Bolong river, hidden right in the mangroves. It is a collection of huts on stilts. The huts are very simple and a bit worn, but comfortable enough and fairly clean. My room was a family room (I guess the smaller ones were not... More

For what it is Bintang Bolong is a very good lodge. This is not a luxury lodge but a basic simple and clean little lodge. We stayed here for 3 nights in December and were the only guests at the lodge. The accommodation was very simple and the bed not fantastically comfortable but it was clean. The deck was fantastic... Sometimes a place can have a great view and lovely nature but can be wrecked by the attitude of the staff; here I can only compliment a fabulous bunch of people who work hard to make your experience memorable and who know when to back off. Yes, the view is staggering (IF you are in one of the river front... More

I stayed one night at Bintang Bolon. The room was near the parking lot, the bathroom had no door and faced the bed, on top of it, it was quite smelly. The funniest thing is that these rooms are as expensive as the rooms facing the water. Overall, it just looks run down and it seems that the owner is... More

Stayed for the second time in April. Its really worth a visit even for one night. The lodges are basic but thats what adds to the ambience of this place. Its hidden at the end of a village. Lodges are on the river, with an excellent view. Evening meal was excellent, even in the dark. Quiet a few animal noises... More

Good location on the banks of the creek with huts on stilts leaning over the river. Rooms basic but large and clean with mossie nets and balcony. Excellent food at the restaurant but not much choice.
