This hotel is centrally located in Yellowstone National Park right on the lake. Our room was simple but comfortable, the staff were friendly, the restaurant and deli had some good choices, and the lounge area was a nice place to spend some time. No cell or internet availability was a little disappointing but also gave us some "time off". Given... More

We stayed here one night. Big prices & very average for what you got. The room was basic, the lighting was terrible. We decided to eat in for dinner, but weren't told at check in that you needed a reservation. Evidently, they can't cater for the volume of people staying in the hotel. We were told at 7pm that we... Rooms were Spartan at best. No TV, uncomfortable beds. The room above us had squeaky floors, and the guy was pacing all night. I heard a similar complaint by another patron at checkout. It was a nice place to hangout in the lobby and they had a piano player. NO internet and NO cell phone coverage!

I just left Yellowstone and stayed at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel and Cabins. You should avoid this place at all costs. Built in 1891 with fantastic lake views, and supposedly renovated in 1990, to me this hotel should be the jewel of the Yellowstone crown. A real treasure to display the by gone days of America. Instead, what you get... More

We stayed with our 2 sons here and very much enjoyed it. The cabins are very clean and roomy. We also were able to walk down to the general store for ice cream. We loved sitting on the store deck, eating ice cream and looking over Yellowstone Lake. Very quiet in the cabin even though many cabins in the area.... More

The hotel is near the lake, with views of the mountains. We had a cabin which was comfortable, but be warned the walls were thin. The room was comfortable with two king sized beds, but no television, being a national park. The hotel/lodge has a bar and restaurant, plus a cafeteria. Food in the cafe was a little overpriced. Buffet... More

We're not campers. But, we rented one of the cabins and felt like we were ... kinda... camping out. Our cabin was across the road from a wooded area and we frequently saw wildlife. The cabin was cute with heating/cooling to your desire. Only downside is that you have to walk to the main hotel for dinner. Not a problem... More

The Yellowstone Lake Hotel charged us about $300 per night for a room that was small, old, broken-down and needed painting badly. The window screen had holes in it so it could not be opened. Also, the window frame had chipped paint around it. The paint and condition was so chipped the paint looked old enough to be leaded paint.... More

Dear inhighgear, Thank you for your recent comments regarding your visit to the Lake Yellowstone Hotel last summer. I was disappointed to learn about your unpleasant stay at the Lake Hotel. The poor physical condition of your room and the poor customer service you received in the dining room was unfortunate. Please accept my apologies for any inconveniences this caused,... More

There are several different types of accommodations at the Lake Hotel, so the reviews on here can be confusing. There are rooms in the historic hotel, rooms in the hotel annex and cabins clustered nearby the hotel. The Lake Hotel Frontier Cabins look exactly like they did when I was a kid (you'll have to guess how long ago that... More

We stayed at a variety of places in Yellowstone. As we splurged for the Old Faithful Inn, we went with the least expensive option in the Lake area, the Pioneer Cabins. These things were a mess - should have been torn down years ago! Windows had large gaps, holes in the floor and walls, and squirrels in the roof all... More

Dear BlueFingers, Thank you for your recent comments regarding your visit to the Lake Lodge last summer. I was disappointed to learn about your stay at Lake Lodge. Every year we receive thousands of comments, mostly favorable, about the cabins. The poor physical condition of your cabin was unfortunate.
