Upon entering the Inn, I was transported back in time. The hostess made me feel welcome. The room was fit for royalty. I enjoyed walking around the grounds and Garden District. Breakfast was suburb.

The beautiful homes and grounds were a delight. Our hostess was knowlegable, gracious, and so much fun!! If you are indulging a husband 's Civil war passion in visiting the battlefield, this is the place to stay. The breakfast -wow! Wonderful gift shop too!

We stayed three nights. The home is absolutely lovely and well decorated. The porch and gardens are beautiful and welcoming. Our room was very large and comfortable. Belle of the Bends is a beautiful house that is decorated beautifully in classic Southern style. All of the rooms were lovely (we got to tour them all) and Mary was a fantastic host. Breakfast was fantastic and her company and conversation was much appreciated.

On arrival realized that the train runs a block away, through a couple ungated crossings (loud horn blasts) at random hours 24/7. I loved Mary's introduction "I won't try to sugarcoat it-it's there". Delightful house, scenic views, great breakfasts. There is a for sale sign as well, in case any budding innkeepers are tempted.

We spent 1 night in a huge and beautiful room that was clean, comfortable, decorated with antiques and luxurious. The inn has lovely gardens - we were lucky to see the azaleas and dogwoods in bloom, and the parlor, grand foyer and dining room in the house are historically accurate and very pretty. With so many earlier enthusiastic reviews there's not much we can add. Certainly the accommodation and breakfast were first-class, however, the best part was the hostess and host, Mary and her husband Dan, both are charming and interesting people. L&R Ottawa
