We did not know anyone who had stayed here before so we were a little nervous but it was terriffic. We arrived in time for tea where there was a nice variety of baked goods plus a few appetizers. We stayed in garden room 1 which is one of the less expensive rooms. It was immaculate and the bedding was extremely... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Francis Malbone House for a quick 2 day get away, meeting up with my brother and his wife. This was our first visit to a Bed & Breakfast - staying in the Courtyard Suite. We have obviously set the bar high for any future vacations elsewhere! The staff was was friendly, accommodating... This was our fourth visit to the Francis Malbone - this time traveling with good friends to celebrate our anniversaries...We stayed in the Benjamin Mason Suite and Stillhouse Room - both located in the Benjamin Mason House adjacent to the main Inn. As always, the food was superb and staff so accommodating. Will, Anne Maria and entire staff - thank... More

We went to Newport for a short 4 day getaway. Francis Malbone House exceeded our expectations. Our room was CLEAN and the bed was comfortable! The breakfast was amazing! A seemingly endless buffet, then you order your entree. The two options in entree were both delicious. Then afternoon tea was wonderful! Homemade treats and snacks. So much food I may... More

Right in the heart of Newport this house is a small gem. Comfy rooms. A short walk to the wharfs for food and shopping. Easy distance to the famous mansions and cliff walk. And best of all a really special breakfast. We spent four nights here and just adored it. Can't wait to come back.

We stayed two nights in one of the smaller rooms in the old part of the house. I really can't recommend this hotel highly enough. The house is absolutely beautiful and has been very tastefully decorated throughout. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. There are four rooms that guests can make use of downstairs as well... More

It was my good fortune to have a reunion in Newport with high school classmates (plus several husbands), and the Francis Malbone was our home base. It was a perfect location....affording privacy when needed, and several comfy rooms large enough for us to hang out and talk well into the evening. It was hospitality plus: beds turned down at night,... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Francis Malbone House for a quick get away 2 days. The owner and staff could not have been more hospitable. The room was comfortable, the bathroom spacious and the breakfasts and afternoon teas were outstanding. Excellent location and the staff was more than eager to offer suggestions as to where to go.... We stayed at this inn for 2 nights and found that room (Courtyard #2) and bathroom was roomy, the courtyard a lovely place to relax and the common areas very nice. This inn is just blocks from the wharf, shopping and restaurants. It has off street parking, which is a plus in high season in Newport.

This was my second stay here for a girls getaway trip - we were upstairs on 3rd floor prev., but this time stayed on two adjoining ground floor rooms (doors went out to a shared mini patio). The Inn is lovely and very well maintained. Beds are super comfy. Food ----- wow! Huge breakfast AND a 3 pm tea with... More
