Took a spontaneous weekend road trip with the wife and dog and needed a last-minute place to stay. Beech Tree came through, let us arrive late, very welcoming to our dog and even gave us a discount! Room was comfy and well-maintained. The dog-friendly room is on the second floor on the front side of the main house.

Very cute place with friendly proprietors. Rooms are clean and spacious (especially if you manage to get the suite with the sitting room, which Jeff was nice enough to upgrade us to) and the breakfast was delicious. I stayed here twice - the first time one couple in our party had an infant with them, and everyone were very accomodating.... More

We stayed in room 302 in the cottage. Were greeted with a warm welcome and helpful info. The room was cozy, clean, and romantic- very homey. Shower was roomier than anticipated. Breakfast was wonderful! Wish we stayed more than one evening - would go back in a heart beat. Decided to take a cab downtown for dinner, which cost about... More

I highly recommend this inn. It was very nice to come back to our room and just relax after a long day of walking around downtown or along the cliff walk. The room was perfect for what we needed. It was clean and spacious, with a huge bathroom and large jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was delicious (especially the French Toast) and... More

From the outside, the house that this B&B is located in is very cute. There is a circular drive, with ample parking in the back, and you can reach your room from either the front or the back, which is convenient. The location is not great, though. It is not located in the cute downtown that you think of when... More

We highly recommend this inn as a place to truly relax. The rooms are beautiful, and a warm, friendly atmosphere welcomes you from the very start. The breakfasts are delicious, and plentiful, with every need met, as far as we are concerned. There is also the ability to have a cup of tea after hours, and to sit and enjoy... More

The only regret I have about our stay at The Beech Tree Inn was that it was only a one night visit. The room was clean & the bed was very comfortable. The girl who checked us in gave us a map of Newport & pointed out local attractions & restaurants. Our host was an extremely kind gentleman who also... More

We went to Newport for a couple's getaway weekend. The Beech Tree Inn was a great place to stay. It was not too far from all the restaurants and shops. The room was sunny and bright, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious. The innkeeper was very friendly and helpful with advice on local attractions.

Clearly the best breakfast of all B&B's! Very good rooms, lots of space. Welcoming staff. Not far from Thames and Newport's central tourist district. Very reasonably priced. Recommend highly; will do again.

As a Veterinarian, I can always leave my dogs at the office. However, with this trip, we elected to travel with our two dogs-one 18 lb hyper terrier and one mellow 60 lb dobie x. Jim and his son-in-law, Jeff were so accommodating to both us and our canine friends. The Inn was beautiful. The location was perfect. I was... More
