Loved the Clarkeston and its location to the shops and restaurants. Easy drive to the mansions. Room was bigger than expected and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous with efficient and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again. More

My husband and I stayed at the Clarkston while in town for the Newport Folk Festival and enjoyed every minute. We are a very laid back couple and are not high maintenance in any way. The rooms were what we would consider "fabulous" for 300 years old. Being from Florida it was nice to be surrounded by so much history.... More

We contacted the Clarkeston from the Tourist Info Centre via the free phone, we were advised to visit the place and as we were only down the road we took up the offer, my wife had wanted to stay at a B&B during our trip and this looked ideal. We were shown a room in an adjacent property which although... More

Dear "RoySkat" Thank you for writing a review, as your input will make us work harder. Under the sink is one of those easily over-looked places by housekeeeping but a frequently-used place by guests. It is a spot that has now been added to management's radar screen. Not immediately responding to your complaint was unacceptable and I am thrilled that... More

We have stayed at the The Clarkeston many times over the past ten years and have always been pleased. This time was no exception. After a warm welcome from the staff, we entered a pleasantly decorated and inviting room. As always we were given some wonderful dinner advice. The inn is located in a great downtown location where all restaurants... More

Like I said I feel like I have to be honest with those out there looking for a B&B to stay at in beautiful Newport, RI. I choose the Clarkeston based on its affordability and historic charm, only I did not actually get to stay at the Clarkeston....I was put in the house across the street that they use as... More

We happened upon the Inn by searching on-line for a quaint place to stay in Newport. The street is very historic as are all the inns. Rick the innkeeper was very helpful from showing us the best route to the beach to showing us various rooms that we could choose to stay in. Breakfasts were delicious - same menu each... More

we recently took a "spurr of the moment" get away with my wife and two children. We were so lucky that we found the clarkston inn. It was such a beautiful inn on a historic street. The rooms were spacious and inviting and the breackfast was great. The nicest part of our experience there was the staff. They were great.... More

This Inn is in a great location - walkable to everything in town and the off street parking is amazingly convenient. There are really comfortable beds and great breakfasts. The office staff is incredibly friendly and VERY helpful with everything. It was perfect with a Mom and two teenagers to use as a home base in Newport. Some of the... More
