The hotel was great in every aspect. Fabulous comfortable bed. However..at 8 am..the housekeeper knocked, waking us up and walked in before we could even say anything while we were still in bed! A tad bit upset. We did not have a do not disturb sign. Nor would you expect that at 8 am anyways....This experience may keep us from... More

The hotel is located of the San Antonio river walk, what better place anywhere on the river walk. At night, sitting out on the river walk was really nice. The hotel staff was absolutely the BEST and very accomodating, Brandon at the front desk couldn't have been any better! Cudo's to Brandon! The hot breakfast buffet was delicious, they have... More

The hotel was a little farther from the action but nice and quiet. Upon arriving the front desk was very helpful. Carly was very helpful in assisting me with accommodations and helped me find the great hot spots of downtown. The pleasant front desk staff will make me come back again and they made me feel welcome. Thanks again to... More

20 dollars a night to park and if you park directly across the street they will tow you big time if you do not feed the box correctly at the exact right time. We had to leave at 4am in the morning because a couple was fighting and throwing things against the wall and hollering. Police were called. Good. After... More

I'm sorry to hear about the disturbance above you and as soon as we were made aware we did have those folks removed from the hotel. You should have recieved a survey from the hotel and instead of filling out the survey if you hit "reply" the email will come directly to me and I would be happy to discuss... More

The El Tropicano Hotel is a nice hotel which does a good job delivering service with an old property and a so-so location. It is located on Lexington Street on the river (museum reach) at the first north bound lock. It has a friendly staff, a terrific hot breakfast offering and a ground level pool. My shower was never hot... More

Thank you for your review and I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We celebrate 50 years on the Riverwalk later this year and are continuing to improve our hotel with the launch of El Nueve this summer. I will look into the hot water situation, thank you for bringing it to my attention. I look forward to seeing you... More

My wife and I fell in love with El Tropicano while attending a Navy ship's reunion -- a great location on the Riverwalk as water taxis provide the main mode of transportation -- although not down in the bustling commercial center, it provided for a quiet ambience in old San Antone. The staff was amazingly friendly -- usually in big... More

I'm sorry to hear that we had an opportunity to make an easy fix with your shower curtain and did not deliver. It's the details that matter in the hospitality business! I'm happy you enjoyed your stay and your reunion was a success, and that our crew was friendly and outgoing, they do a great job every day to make... More

Stayed for an important reunion and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. That is probably what liked the best about this somewhat dated lodging. While across the street from one entrance to the Riverwalk, it is about 15 minutes walk from the main Riverwalk attractions and restaurants we went to. Rooms very reasonably priced (certainly beats staying at domestic... More

In addition I am just about finished installing new internet access points throughout the hotel and we are already seeing the difference. Please look... More

I stayed at El Tropicano this last weekend. It was built in the 1960's and supposedly welcomed stars during that era. Today it is a bit dated, although they have attempted to give it a fresh new look. Although the rooms need some attention (you can definitely find a bit of peeling wallpaper and such), they are acceptable and we... More
