The cost for the hotel is less than most in the downtown area. Since we were traveling around SA then we were not interested in convenience to the Riverwalk area or other typical walking areas near downtown. Stayed because of it's location near Market Square. It's NOT close...takes a 4-5 block walk. The place is run down and not up to the typical Marriott "par". Marriott has built/ renovated numerous hotels in the Alamo area, but has let this one go. I recommend staying at the newer hotels in the downtown area for a few $s more.

Excellent management here-----both resourceful & friendly. However I was just a bit surprised that our room was slightly worn. Not bad but the room was more Super-8 than Marriott. The pool area looked nice. There is a newer looking Fairfield next door, I'll book that next time.
