We were first time guests at La Zarzuela in April, 2008. La Zarzuela exceeded all of our expectations. This small inn is secluded yet conveniently located to the Tucson city center and attractions like the Sonoran Desert Museum. Hosts Cliff and Lew designed this property from the ground up. The inn is located on a hilltop in the midst of... More

We stayed at La Zarzuela for 3 nights and from booking right through to when we left, the service was fantastic (thankyou Cliff, Lew and Pauline) La Zarzuela is like nowhere we have ever stayed before, the building is beautiful and huge amounts of thought and effort have gone into the layout and decoration. Breakfasts and canapes are delicious and... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Zarzuela. It is in a quiet, beautiful area, but close to restaurants and sites in Tucson. Our room (Palo Verde), was very nice and clean, with a wonderful fireplace. The view from the room was gorgeous and restful. The common areas were beautiful, and full of interesting furnishings. The innkeepers really made us... More

This is the only B & B my wife and I have booked routinely... Inn keepers Cliff and Lew along with Pauline will spoil you in their desert location/home with a private, warm experience all around. Be prepared to use your camera to capture the memories, from the breakfast experience (which will hold you for the day!) to the evening's... More

My husband and I have traveled through many parts of the world, and love the excitement of going to new places. Four years ago, however, we found a place that is truly worth going back to. Having fallen in love with the inn and the innkeepers, Cliff and Lew, on our first visit, I was a little worried about going... More

Lew & Cliff have created a haven on the edge of a desert park. Their spectacular home is filled with beautiful antiques, artwork and whimsy. Both they and neighbor, Pauline, are warm and welcoming, creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed time by the infinity pool and hiking in the hills, as well as the concert Cliff provided on the... More

Absolutely, loved our stay at La Zarzuela..2/23/06--2/27/06. Cliff and Lew (the innkeepers) out-do themselves when it comes to hospitality. Their attention to detail is amazing and they go out of their way to make guests feel pampered and extremely comfortable. The Inn is a gorgeous Villa with 4-5 guest rooms. Our room was very comfortable, large and just lovely! We... More

As we were driving towards La Zarzuela I pointed up at the most lovely adobe house on the hillside and said, "I hope that is La Zarzuela." To our delight it was. The house was built on the side of a hill on the outskirts of Tucson just around the mountain from the desert museum and on the border of... More

A stay at La Zarzuela, a lovely desert retreat in the Tucson foothills, is as melodic and harmonious as its musical name suggests. To refer to this elegant home, built for entertaining and lodging guests, as a bed and breakfast seems inadequate. The level of personal attention and luxury of the casita and common areas make La Zarzuela more like... More
