I booked into this hotel on the advice of others, but right from the start it turned out to be a nightmare. The charge of 1000 Solomon dollars is top dollar for any room, anywhere in the Solomon's, and when I went ionto the room provided and couldn't even find a bar of soap anywhere I complained in person to... We ate here christmas eve and they had a buffet, traditional dancing and a live band. The food was very expensive $250 SBD and $150 SBD for children and it was terrible. The seafood was all dried out and the salad was made with off tomatoes and slimy lettuce. The music and dancing was enjoyable and people were having a... More

We were scuba diving in Gizo and found this hotel was great if you want to experience what the Solomons are really like. Being in town means you can walk around and experience the town of Gizo. Room was adequate - air conditining and a fan - great for dealing with the humidity. The pool is awesome - it's clean... More

Did not stay here but ate at the restuarant. Menu changes all the time, and they have just put in a pizza oven. Service is VERY VERY SLOW, everything is in Solomons time. Prices start from about $120 SBD for a meal. Food is OK, not amazing. Other options include Lamasa for lunch, which is a fraction of the price... More

If you want to be in town, this is the place (Fatboys and others are better if you want a more out-of-the-way resort-type place). Very basic, but better than you'd expect in a location like this. Dinner was quite qood (stick with the fish), breakfast was very limited. Wifi promised at the website was not available--only worked via prepaid cards... More

Suggest take top floor of hotel , if you wanr some rest. Hotel staff wonderful , and the dining room... More

I didn't know what to expect of Gizo and was pleasantly suprised to have struck lucky with the Gizo Hotel. I will admit to not having seen any other lodgings in town, but from what I heard, they do not compare to this hotel, the exception being an unknown smaller lodging up on the hill overlooking Gizo (as descibed by... turned out to be a good choice for a first timer to the Solomons. I spent my days diving with Dive Gizo which i will reveiw separately. given the faraway location, Gizo hotel is very professionally run. Reception staff are attentive and helpful and nothing is a problem plus they sorted out a bill query promptly with no fuss. Rooms... More

Gizo Hotel is the best place to stay in Gizo. From the airport it's only a short boat ride to Gizo town. The hotel is located right in front of the jetty. We stayed in a deluxe room which was very nice. The pool area is also very nice, but the pool is small. There is a little dive company... More

During a 3 week stay on the island of Ghizo we spent several nights in the Gizo hotel . The standard was much higher than we expected . We stayed in a room over looking the harbour, which is the centre of Gizo life. The room was clean and comfortable , with aircon ,ceiling fan, fridge and satellite tv . The... More
