“Not as good as we expected”

After reading the website we were expected a bit of luxury here, but were disapointed to find that it looked to be a little dirty and overgrown when we arrived. Pleasant person on reception. Room was very large and two large beds too. Plenty of room for a family. Massive bathroom. Relatively clean but could have been better. Slept well.... More

We booked this accommodation from the AA Guide in which McGuires says they have deluxe accommodation in a wilderness setting. There was nothing deluxe about the room we had - mould all around the sealant in the shower, very tired and dated. We had such trouble finding a nice place to stay in Haast. Everyone who travels down the west coast needs a place to lay their heads on their way through, and there doesn't seem to be a single place to stay in Haast that received good reviews on trip advisor!
