Thank you for your review.....
Omarama is in the South Island high country - that in itself is an attraction to many with the clear skies and mountain views.
With regard to your comment about keys - yes we are happy for them to be left in the doors on departure - this saves us time and enables the house...

We overnight in Omarama on 31st Dec. Interesting place in the middle of nowhere. We booked Heritage gateway hotel on internet way ahead and were not disappointed for we were given a very large room with balcony. (i understand not rooms are like that).
Front desk service was excellent and we were pointed to good restaurants for New Year eve...

Thank you for staying with us, and thank you for your review - we take on board your comments regarding the small TV's, and are in a process for upgrading them for our superior and family units.
I also appreciate your comments re cobwebs - I can assure you that they are cleaned frequently, but as you say the spiders...

The only time I have ever written a negative review, but this hotel was dire! The room was a decent size and clean enough, but I had to scrub bird mess off the chairs on the balcony before we could sit down. The railings are full of cobwebs and look as though they have never been cleaned. On day 2...

While the management of the hotel deeply regret the situation that Susan H incurred, I emailed her personally the morning after they left - which was when I became aware of the situation.
In this email I explained the issue that had occurred with the change of shifts in reception, and a trainee receptionist taking over. However I can assure...

Nice location in a pretty quiet town, reception okay, took one of their upgraded rooms with outside deck which was full of cobwebs, furniture in the room was dated, cleanliness average at best, restaurant was just okay with basic food.

Part of a Thomas Cook Tour. Room 115 with lovely alpine views on the 2nd floor. Shower room needs improvements, lovely bed. We had a welcome note and a box of chocolates to celebrate our anniversary (thanks). Very good tasty breakfast.

My partner and I stayed here at the end of August just for a night while we spent a weekend skiing at Lake Ohau. The room was aging, but comfy and a good size to spread out and organise all our snow gear. We dinned in the Hotels restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and the food was amazing! Top...

On the plus side, there was convenient parking and our room was large and had everything one requires (comfortable bed, good shower, etc). On the minus side, the motel was a little shabby and lacking in any real character. If you are passing through Omarama - there is little reason to stay for long - then this motel looked like...

We stayed here on a deal which gave us the room and buffet breakfast for only $148 and 10% dicount off the hot tubs down the road. The hot tubs were amazing, very private and well catered for. Highly recommend! The hotel was clean and basic. The room wasn't very big but they gave us a choice of a bigger...

We stayed for a night on our way to Queenstown from Christchurch to visit Mt Cook. I was not all that enthusiastic about this place based on past reviews but was positively surprised as soon as I reached there. The staff at reception was warm and friendly. The room was not just clean and comfy but really huge as well....

Hotel is dated but very clean and tidy, in its day would have been 5star. Room very large and warm. We had the B&B package buffet breakfast was standard, all wait staff friendly. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was nice, not too many options in Omarama for dinner. I would stay again as it was well priced,...
