I am so new on Tripadvisor, and seach on this, that and those... And big 'Wow' !!! when I pinned where I have been and started to browse on this best friend's travelers web. Spellbound is the place I will never forget. Driving from Auckland and around the North Island was a big fun but exhausted. Spellbound is a peaceful... More

Excellent directions lead us the the front door of this B&B with it's wonderful views. A welcoming pot of and home made biscuits made us feel immediately at home. The rooms are well appointed and spacious. There is a guest sitting room in addition. Breakfast is full of homemade home grown ingredients and should meet all dietary requirements. Alan and... More

Each of our stays in NZ was better than the previous one on our month long itinerary but Spellbound B&B is a special treat. Located in the small town of Hahei having a population of less than 600 we were hosted by Alan and Barbara and we felt at home from the time we entered the place. Freshly baked cookies... More

Spent one night at Spellbound over Easter weekend. From the moment we arrived and were served tea and biscuits on the deck overlooking the water, we had an excellent experience. Our queen ensuite room had a view of the ocean & the morning sunrise. The prime location meant an easy morning walk to Cathedral Cove right from the B&B. The... More

This is a most delightful B&B / homestay. Alan & Barbara were wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome in their home. They have many years experience in looking after guests and it certainly showed, with every little detail taken care of. We marvelled at how Barbara had the time to prepare the maginficent spread for breakfast in which... More

Spellbound is absolutely fantastic!! From the most wonderful hosts Alan and Barbara to the sweeping views and proximity to the gorgeous Stingray Bay, Gemstone Bay and of course Cathedral Cove. Our one complaint was only affording ourselves one night in this gorgeous part of the world...oh, and make sure you get the FERRY across to Whitianga and don't drive the... More

Great location near Cathedral Cove and with wonderful views. Breakfast was fantastic with homemade jams, compotes, bread and muffins, a lot of fresh fruit and even some delicious cheese. And it was so nice to have a chat with Alan and Barbara, the most friendly and helpful hosts. We would love to come back to Spellbound, if we ever come... More

We traveled from Auckland to Hahei without our (lost) luggage and the B&B keeper did all he could to track down the airline and assist us in finding the right contact. He never questioned the phone use and wanted to assure us that we should relax at the various recommend coves / hot water beach and travel to Whitianga by... More

We only stayed here for 1 night sadly but we were made so welcome by Alan and Barbara. Breakfast was fantastic, everything homemade by Barbara, served on the balcony with amazing views of Hahei beach. Alan provided expert advice about the area , tide times etc. and even provided beach towels and a spade for Hot Water beach despite the... More

We cannot praise this accommodation enough! Our stay at Spellbound in Hahei was simply delightful. Alan and Barbara our hosts were so welcoming and friendly, we did not want to leave. Wonderful breakfasts could be taken indoors or on the balcony overlooking Hahei beah. Barbara makes her own bread and cakes each day which we were also fortunate enough to... More
