We were at Sani in Feb of this year and from the very beginning of our Rainforest adventure the Sani Lodge far exceeded our expectations. The staff is warm, welcoming, the accomidations were FANTASTIC and the menu they were able to create was quite a surprise. Our guides and naturalists have the ability to spot and show us things we... I stayed here for a few days in January with a school group, and it was wonderful! The bar had been set high because we were returning to the mainland after 2 weeks gallivanting about the Galapagos Islands, but Sani Lodge did not disappoint! Lots of cool birds and wildlife, and the staff was all great! The food was delicious... More

Having recently spent 3 days and 4 nights at Sani Lodge, I can thoroughly recommend it as a place to experience the jungle, witness the way of life for a Kichwa community and relax in the most beautiful place in Ecuador. Firstly, the rainforest. We had the most amazing guide, who was the eyes, the ears and the mouth of... More

We stayed at Sani Lodge for 4 days (3 nights) and it was an incredible experience. The Lodge is in a beautiful, remote setting on the edge of a lake. The sounds of the jungle are incredible, we saw a huge range of wildlife including birds, monkeys, insects and more.... and black caiman, piranhas and tarantulas! Travelling in canoes several... Sani was recommended to us by fellow birders that had been the previous year. It was organized by the Magic Birding circuit and it all went without a hitch!! We had a personal guide, Domingo, who was excellent and got us over 50 new birds. We birded in canoes in pristine small rivers surrounding the lodge The highlight of the... More

I visited the Sani Lodge in January, 2012. It's a fantastic place to explore the Ecuadorian Amazon ecosystem and experience the diverse wildlife and culture of the region. But it may not be for everyone - the food is fine but not outstanding, the english language is not well spoken by most staff (which can lead to interesting results), the... More

After a 2.5 hour boat trip, a 20 minute walk and a half hour in a dug out canoe you will arrive wet and sweaty at Sani Lodge. The lodge is in a stunning location, on a lagoon and is as close and good as you will ( probably) ever get to experience the rain forest. The lodge is managed... More

827$/p 4n/5d Boat from Coca takes 3 hours.  Community-based jungle lodge with simple, clean bungalows for 2-3 persons, total max. 30 persons. The service at the lodge itself was very good. There is free WiFi, free water, tea and coffee. Rubber boots and rain ponchos are provided if asked for. Food is ok and there is a good variety. The... More

My daughter and sister-in-law and I spent four nights in the Lodge. The boat ride was a joy! Long, but better because of it. When we received our lunches wrapped in large leaves and tied with raffia, we knew we were in the right place! Javier, our guide, was extraordinarily knowledgeable. He and his brother have a rivalry to see... More

A great isolated lodge in the Amazon run and owned by the local tribe members. Food was good, my tent comfrotable and the location beautiful and serene. I would have liked more and more rigorous trekking options, but what we did was pretty great. Our guide was top notch (shout out to Olger). He was a local who spoke great... More
