This HIE was a cut above most. Key pluses were quiet location at the end of Keystone's quaint business district, the friendly and helpful staff, the relatively large rooms, the reasonable rate and the excellent free breakfast. A minor negative was a rather cramped parking lot. I would not hesitate to recommend this HIE to anyone looking for a comfortable... More

We only stayed in Keystone for one night ,but I don't think we could have picked a better motel. The check in was a breeze, the room was excellent, the breakfast was the nicest I have had in a motel, and I told the Lady that cooked the scrambled eggs etc, that she had done an excellent job. If you are planning... More

This is by far the nicest motel in Keystone. The front desk staff helps with dinner options. Very friendly. We really loved being able to open the windows to avoid using the air conditioning. The front desk suggested Ruby's for dinner and it was great for taste and local color. Doesn't look like bus tours book here - a real... More

First, Keystone is a very small town population 337. We stayed here for four nights and five days. There were only two other hotels opened as the tourist season doesn't really start until Memorial Day or shortly before. I am HI Priority Card member so I wasn't concerned so much about other hotels being closed. This was a great Holiday... More

Everything was great. I spent 1 night here with 2yr old daughter. Pool and hot tub kept her entertained. Plenty of restaurant within walking distance of hotel and mt Rushmore is very close. Breakfast bar (free) was the best I have had that was complimentary. Highly reccomend.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on a recent weekend trip to Mt. Rushmore. Keystone is exceptionally close to the monument, less than a 5 minute drive. The area surrounding the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The hotel is immaculately clean. The lobby is well designed, and has a rustic charm. The room was also very clean. The bed was... More

We had an opportunity to visit Mt Rushmore on our way home from a trip to NC, and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Keystone, SD. It was a very pleasant stay, and close to the monument. We'd hoped for the opportunity to view the monument after it was lighted for the evening, but were unable to do so.... More

First off I was impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel its self, when you walk in the door there are numerous animal mounts which give the hotel a true western feel. The staff was very helpful and polite. Inside the room it was clean and orderly and i felt at home. the surrounding area is beautiful and there are... More

We stayed here off season Easter weekend ( great time to visit!) And was perfect fit. The pool is small but clean and not crowded this time of year (I could swim Laps), breakfast is hearty for a holiday inn, coffee and Internet access and stuffed elk decor in lobby all day. Near everything though recommend venturing into nearby towns... More

The hotel is clean and well kept. The breakfast is great and always tended to. The price was just right as well. I do wish the pool water was warmer for the kids (and me too). Location cannot be beat...so close to Mt. Rushmore!
