After reading some of the past reviews, I suspect I must have stayed in a different Route 66 Motel, Barstow - possibly one in the Twilight Zone - or perhaps pther people just have low standards and are prepared to put up with appalling conditions because it has 'character' or 'history'.
I decided to stay here rather than my usual...

Picked this motel due to quirkiness and appreciated that it may be a little basic. However the link to booking.com and expedia leads to the other Route 66 motel in EAST Main Street. This motel is very cheap and a bit creepy although saying that the bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The night porter was helpful. Had...

We were on our way to Laughlin, NV and stayed one night at Motel 6 at Barstow. It was neat and clean. People at the desk were very pleasant and when I called for a reservation the person I spoke to was very helpful. We will probably stay there again when headed that way.

Doors/frames were the original and, though they had fresh paint, didn't appear to have had any additional maintenance for quite some time so...not altered from the original is a mixed blessing. The mattress wasn't...

I really enjoyed traveling from the Great Lakes to LA and stopping on the way at this historic little property. I would highly recommend staying overnight. Quiet, fun motel. Took lots of pictures.
Nice quiet little place. Basic stuff. All very clean and smoke-free. Bed was comfortable. Folk were friendly. Great deal for the price. Would go back again.
