I found this property to be very clean and I had a spacious room. Liked its convenience to Harvard and moderate price. The breakfast selection was good. I thought 11:00 am was a little early for checkout.

I stayed 2 nights in December 2011 and paid 220 USD which is a good price compared to other hotels in Cambridge/Boston.
The building looks nice and cute from outside but the interior design is a bit old-fashion. A lot of flowers on the carpet, on the walls, everywhere. This is not an issue but a little refreshing would be...

Set next to Harvard, this Inn is one of the more fairly-priced places to stay if you're in the area, and it has a lot more personality than a generic hotel would. We stayed only 1 night. I found the service to be friendly; they allowed us to check in just a bit early, which was appreciated, and there is...

I had difficulty finding a room anywhere for Visitas weekend which coincided with the Boston marathon. I stumbled upon A Friendly Inn at Harvard and was thrilled. The Inn is within easy walking distance of the T station at Harvard Square, so I was able to navigate the whole weekend from the airport and back without ever needing a car....

I'd strongly recommend against it due to the following bad experience:
- Before making a reservation, I negotiated with the hostess that I can check out by 2pm.
- I checked in and the guy who opened the door for me, immediately after I had paid the bill upfront, got mad at me, yes MAD and raised the tone of...

Just got an e-mail from my brother looking for hotel suggestions in Cambridge, which reminded me that I have this overdue review of a hidden gem in Harvard Square...
First, the good things:
--The place is very close to Harvard and Harvard Square (in particular the Science Center and Harvard Yard). In fact, it's just two blocks away. You can't...

I had a wonderful time at the Inn, although the rooms are very small and not that comfortable to stay in during the day. There was no armchair in my room, and its darkness did not really invite me to stay in and lounge. Still, the hotel location makes it perfect for any business with Harvard. All in all, I...

We stayed here for a week with our girls who are 12 and 14. We were all on the 3rd floor, we had a double room and they had a twin room which was much larger than our room. The rooms were well furnished, well maintained and comfortable. The bathroom in our room was not great as it was clearly...

Staying at this hotel was amasing! It is a small, clean, cosy and indeed a friendly hotel! Our room was furnished and decorated the way we were feeling so at home! It overlooked a quiet street. When you are in such a room, you realize that you are not just one of the hundreds of visitors staying there, but a...

It is a small inn but with excellent homely feel inside. Stayed in single room, small but clean. Toilet and shower were clean but small. No outside noise. The front desk person is present most of the time except after too late at night to too early in the morning I guess. A common computer with internet access (at no...
