It is pretty well next to the railroad, only a short walk to the hotel (really short walk). Staff are friendly and helpful and only short walk to main shops. The only thing is the tot-tot from the trains but I'm sure that can be heard any hotels in anchorage.

Just got back from a great trip to Alaska. Stayed at the Anchorage Grand because of reviews in tripadvisor. What a wonderful stay. Molly checked us in and was very helpful. We were on foot and she showed us on a map where restaurants and museums were within walking distance. Our room was great - huge - and very comfortable.... More

We used this hotel as our base whilst in and around Anchorage. Walk to downtown and off street free parking. Fully self contained large apartment for two people with separate bedroom. Continental breakfast nothing flash but at least it was something for a starter when on the road early. We found the staff to be very helpful. The area was... More

We spent eight nights at Anchorage Grand and see no reason to stay elsewhere. Our room was actually a livingroom kitchen combo, small full bath, and separate bedroom with a queen bed. Kitchen was minimally equipped but included everything we needed from dishes to corkscrew with toaster, coffee maker, and dishwasher. Appliances including Tvs are not new so if flat... More

My husband and I just spent 3 nights here attending the Winter Fur Rondy and we had a wonderful time. The hotel is perfectly located on the bluff above Ship Creek, peaceful view but just 5 minutes walking distance to the heart of Anchorage. We had a north facing room that looked out over Cook Inlet and the Ship Creek... More

Just a few blocks from downtown so very convenient to shops and restaurants. Room has separate bedroom and living area with kitchenette. Breakfast - bagel, oatmeal and juice - left outside your door each morning and (depending in staff motivation) there's usually fresh cookies in reception. Its certainly not as glamorous as the big hotels and some of the fittings... More

I stayed here for 2 nights last year and it was def the right pic for a hotel. I couldn't believe our luck when I saw the rooms for the price we paid. It was pretty cool. Their taxi service was spot on and the hotel was not very crowded. The continental breakfast sucked but you are so close to... More

This place was like having an apartment in downtown Anchorage. We came in by train so the location was fabulous (view of the station from our window!). The room was not beautiful, otherwise I would give it 5 stars. The cookies on the desk were delicious. Parking was easy and free, but unnecessary for part of our trip because most... More
