Overall we had a good experience. We stayed one night, the bathrooms were clean and we had no problems. We stayed on an off-peak day, so I can't comment on what it would be like with all the campsites full, but Cindy was very nice and check-in was easy plus they have bikes our kids could ride around the facility.

We have had 2 great experiences with Beaver Lake. We have 2 Teens and 2 dogs in a 5th Wheel. The staff are great, the facilities were clean, and the family was content and happy when we were stuck at the campground. It is also a great location to Custer State Park and Mt. Rushmore.

Beaver Lake campground is rated a 9.5/10 by TL and I was expecting more than what we experienced. When you enter the park, there are at least 15 signs telling you what to do, what not to do, rules, regulations, etc. When you check-in you are also given a 8x11 sheet with all the other rules. It is very un-welcoming.... More

We were planning to spend a week in the Mt Rushmore area and this was just the location. Only 2 miles out of Custer it was close to so many attractions. The hosts were wonderful - helped us get set up and organized. The sites we had were close to the office and washrooms but smaller (but so is my... More

My partner and I stayed in a small cabin in Beaver Lake on our way through Black Hills National Park. We arrived late at night and the owner came to meet us. He was very nice, and even let us pay the next morning as we were tired and we were losing light. The property is very pretty and extremely... More

We arrived late at night and the lights were on in the little cabin we had rented for 2 days so it looked quite welcoming but when we went inside we couldn't believe our eyes. Rough is putting it lightly, the tv was held onto the stand by a strap you would tie your boat ontop of the car with.... More

We are a family of 4 that stayed there in July 2012. When booking the campsite in the spring we confirmed that we could have a small tent on the same site as our RV at no additional cost. After arrival when our girls were setting up the tent (which was basically to give them some space from us adults)... More

We just got back from tenting 5 nights at Beaver Lake campground and had a great time. We were in site T and it was wonderful - cows next door (but were taken in at night so didn't even Moo and wake us up) and many white tailed deer to watch eating in the field. The campground was very quite... More

The campground is fine (nothing great nothing awful). Be sure to look at the map before you make a reservation. Some sites are nice and feel like a campground other sites are very close to each other and it feels like a parking lot. They have a small pool and waterslide although you have ot pay exra for the waterslide... More

The owners are ignorant, awful people! Max went off on my family for no reason assuming he was under the influence of alcohol! I will NEVER stay here again, I would sleep on the side of the road before I slept there!
