I was pleasantly surprised to find a historic building in such a great location. We were near the French Quarter, the trolley, the fine hotels, Harrahs Casino and the Riverwalk. My accommodations were very comfortable. This was a two-bedroom apartment. Each bedroom was separated by the living room, dining area and kitchen making the bedrooms very private. The kitchen was... I stayed in a 2 bed 2 bath suite. One bed/bath was recently updated, noise free and very comfortable. The other (which I stayed in) was noisy, outdated and cramped. The walls needed to be painted and the bathroom needed to be updated. I saw two cockroaches while there, but I've heard from the locals that they're impossible to get... More

After reading the negative reviews, I was hoping that at the very least the hotel would be clean. I was wonderfully surprised to walk into a beautiful, clean spacious suite. We stayed in room 301 of the main hotel. We had two nice bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and livingroom. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we could need... More

I am not sure on the price, as I stayed as a friend's guest in her timeshare. But regardless of the price, the accommodations are unacceptable. I can deal with the rustic charm of an old building, and did not expect a luxury hotel experience at this property. But the lack of hot water, a blood-stained mattress, and the filthy... More

showing up summer 2011 the clerk seemed nice (and was) but was sad to inform me the elevator doesn't work and the only rooms he had were on the 4th floor. being disabled this might be problematic. but i'm infantry and except the challenge. the clerk gives me the room i think 90 + dollars. the room was very nice... Stayed here for a girls weekend. Old and old. No hot water in the shower (even if you were the first) and the front desk girl was rude when we simply asked for another key. A would NEVER stay here again......spend a little more and find a Marriott or anything else!!

When you first walk in the door you are treated by a small dingy front desk with cheap tacky furniture. Electrical cords are hanging out all over the desk, talk about a fire hazard! If you come at night good luck finding a clerk! when we came there were transients rooming the halls looking for a bathroom,no one at the... More

We had a great experience with the Hotel deL'Eau Vive. Absolutely loved the original brick walls in the suite. Kitchen was well supplied and there was even a full stove - unusual in resort accommmodations. The bathroom was older and the tub was a 6' round room by itself, but everything was clean and worked well. We were within walking... More

Where do I start? The room we stayed in was in The Annex. Be prepared if you get a room in this building. You will have to leave the main part of the hotel, walk past a parking lot and then walk into another totally non-descript building. Our suite was a 3 bedroom 2 bath with a "patio". The living... We spent a week at Hotel de L'Eau Vive. We had a two bedroom one bath suite accommodations. This hotel is straight out of the 1980's. It certainly has not been renovated since then (or so it seems). The bathroom had a huge built it jacuzzi tub which would had been nice except it has been patched up so often... More
