I agree with other reviewers re: the place not being 5* but it's still a super place to stay, nice clean spacious rooms, very helpful staff. The location is super, everything you want to see is in walking distance. Don't miss out on an evening of super music at the nearby spotted cat.

We went here for my 60th birthday. We did not realize it was the beginning of Mardi gras but that meant we saw some opening parades. We got the honeymoon package and champagne awaited us on our arrival. The suites are huge with balconies and in walking distance of everything in the quarter.the staff is super friendly. The hotel is... More

The location for the Creole Tomato and the Zydeco festivals could not be beat. Parking was a bit of a challenge. I know the management knows that it is time to spend money on repairs, refurbishment and improved up dates. Many, many things need work/updating badly. It could be a charming place if it showed some very much needed TLC.... More

My mother and I stayed here for a long weekend for our annual mother/daughter trip. Overall, solid QUIET hotel (we stayed in the back on the 2nd floor): The Good: -As noted above, quiet. We didn't have a balcony but were spared the sounds of drunken, late-night revelers. Because of this location, it also seemed safe. -Comfortable and spacious: Big... More

We were in New orleans for a wedding and stayed at this hotel. It was a really great experience. The rooms were pleasant and we had a roomy suite. The pool area was very comforable to hang out with friends in the afternoon to refresh before the evening adventures. I would definitly stay at this hotel again and recommend it... More

I stayed at Le Richelieu while traveling to New Orleans on business, and cannot wait to come back for another visit when I have more time to explore. The hotel is lovely. My room had a wrap-around balcony and the location is such that sitting on the balcony in the evenings is enjoyable -- even though the hotel is located... More

I have visited New Orleans 20+ times and have always loved places like this one. We stayed here for a long weekend down in New Orleans. This hotel really is in a great location, you are a few blocks from the French Market, you are a few blocks from Bourbon St (if that's your thing, I am kind of over... More

Very happy with our stay. Price is affordable, staff very accommodating in booking tours, and giving great suggestions. Location is on the edge of the French Quarter, away from the crowds but walking distance to the sights. Love the large oil painting in the lobby!

The Hotel Richelieu is ideally located to explore New Orleans's French Quarter and was a delightful experience for my wife and I. We had not returned to New Orleans for several years and this was our first trip, post Katrina. The French Market is a short walk from the hotel, as is the Riverwalk train station, this saved us time,... More

My wife and I (66/68 years old) stayed in this quaint property for one night as we passed through New Orleans. We were residents of this city once and have made many return visits. But Had never stayed here before. We were impressed by the cleanliness and decor. Very Old World, but yet functional. The room they gave us was... More
