We stayed here based on the recommendation of a local we met. Room was basic, but clean and comfortable. No fridge or micro, but the lady at the front desk offered to heat up our frozen dinners - no problem. Nothing particularly memorable either positive or negative. Did love the handcarved indian front door for the office. We would be... More

Had to have some short notice lodging for a house hunting trip for our upcoming move to Cortez. This was Labor Day weekend, ( the weekend of two large motorcycle rallys in the area) and I was worried about the possibility of a noisey stay. We were very happy with our rooms and even though it is located right on... More

As seems the pattern with many other reviews, my wife and I were struck with how friendly and helpful the owner was during a brief staff at this motel. The place was clean and comfortable and priced very fairly we thought. We chose to stay in Cortez at bad weather prevented us from camping at the nearby Hovenweep Monument. I... More

We spent 2 nights here while visiting Mesa Verde National Park . This is just the kind of value place we look for: quite basic but very clean and privately run . We are glad to support local business like this when it is such a good value.

Teresa and her dogs were so welcoming it was like coming home every night. This was our base camp for our trips in the vicinity. We saw lots and it was always wonderful to come back "home". Teresa and her crew are such hard workers and it shows, in the quality of the service. There will be no place better... More

From the outside, this place doesn't look like much. The owner at front desk was amazing. She made a point every day to make sure we had everything we needed. For the 1st time, with online bookings, my requested extra pillows was in our room when we arrived. The owner greeted us every morning as we left, making sure our... More

From the warm, pleasant welcome from Teresa and her Great Danes to the clean comfortable rooms, you'll enjoy your time at the Tomahawk Lodge. Property was perfect for our team of five riders out for a week long motorcycle trip through SW CO. I can't say enough about how accommodating and helpful Teresa was during our short stay. Quick check-in,... More

We stayed 6 days at the Tomahawk. It is an older motel but very clean and quiet even though it is on a busy road. The rooms are insulated very well.Teresa made us fell like we were with family. She works harder than anyone I have ever known. She always had a big smile on her face and was eager to help with any... We stayed at the Tomahawk for 4 nights, using it as a base camp for touring around SW Colorado. The room was clean, comfortable, and affordable. My only regret is I didn't get the lady's name at the front desk. From the day we arrived until this morning when we left she made us feel as welcome as family. The... More

We took Trip Advisors advice and stayed here. Tomahawk Lodge is in a busy area of Cortez, by road construction and on the main road, so it was kind of noisy, esp when trucks drove by. The hotel itself is out of the 1970's - the pictures, the carpet, the decorating style - even the Coke machine! This will appeal... More
