My wife and I drove up from Dambula to Nuruwara Eliya in May 2012. The heat especially in the cultural triangle was oppressive and it was a relief to get up to cooler climes. My guide had some trouble finding the hotel as it was fairly remote and tucked near the Somerset tea plantation.
The roads leading there was bumpy...

This small boutique hotel is built in the midst of breathtaking views of well manicured tea hills, meadows and greenery. Spring like wholesome climate..They welcome you warmly with a steaming cup of tea. The hotel is beautiful and luxurious.. I recommend this wee hotel to people who are in need of a calm and quite holiday. Specially for people who...

We had a bad start to the trip bc of our driver. He only had one day in Nuwara Eliya and spent the entire time in the car. We were going to leave Nuwara Eliya without having seen anything until we met Yohan, the manager of the B&B. He heard our story and offered us another night's stay and arranged...

Langdale by Amaya is a beautiful period house which has been recently converted into a small hotel. It holds the charm of an english manor house and has the service to match. The beautiful setting amid the Tea Plantations just south of Nuwara Eliya, in the hill country is straight from a story book and makes the last few kilometers...

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this brilliant place, my only slight negative was the fact it's fairly isolated & unless you have a car, quite difficult to get into Nuwra Eliya town (not that there is much of interest there, quite scruffy). The views from all round the property were exceptional, the staff attentive but discreet, the food outstanding (make...

We went to Amaya Langdale for a first anniversary. We happen to be the only guests staying in this quaint boutique hotel and the staff were very accommodating of our whims and nuances. We stayed in the Luxury Room, a spacious room overlooking the white picket fenced rose garden. The staff went teh extra mile to spread red rose petal;s...

We only spent one night at this charming hotel. However, we were utterly enchanted by the whole experience.
Granted, it was a bumpy ride there but it would be churlish to complain when the destination made the journey so worthwhile.
The room was very spacious, well appointed with immaculately clean bathroom, wifi, tv. All mod cons.
Dinner was perfect with...

Great estate and staff tries very hard but they fall short at times. Rooms need a bit of freshening up and be careful that your bathroom door doesn't lock by itself as our did. We got a decent deal booking on agoda.com but the value still wasn't really there. My friend had a great massage at the spa. Its a...
