We had a lovely journey in Sri Lanka, the people, the food, the accommodation until we got to The Trevene.
We arrived and saw exactly what we saw on the photos, beautiful old colonial house that looks like a church. Inside it was full of fresh flowers from the garden, I wowed. we stooped in front of a small reception...

Went for two nights with a couple of friends and it was a really great hidden treasure in Nuwara Eliya. Not even 5 minutes from town - location is perfect! Rooms were comfortable and cozy. The hotel had a very homely feel to it, and the staff made the stay more enjoyable. They were always friendly and willing to have...

Stayed for three nights and enjoyed it. Welcome tea on arrival, but lounge would have been so much improved by even a small fire in the open fireplace, without the fire the place was a little gloomy. Breakfast was good. The best tho was the guide Leo who is attaced to the Hotel. He was excellent, has perfect dutch and...

The hotel is actually a 160 year old bungalow from the British times. The staff is very friendly, resourceful and play the perfect host taking care of your every need. The location is great - right above the Victoria Park. The food is good with continental and Sri Lankan options. They have games for children and adults.
It is quite...

There wasn't much to write home about. In short, it was cold, with bad food, sheets too small for the bed, dodgy hot water and not enough chairs in the lounge where the fire was. And the bill they presented was way in excess of what the place was worth.
I felt this was seriously overpriced and not comfortable. We stayed one night and it was cold and rainy, and the place doesn't even have enough chairs so that all the guests can sit in the lounge by the fire. I understand the problems old houses have in damp cold areas but fell they could have done more to make...

The Trevene is a wonderful hotel tucked away above the central hustle and bustle of Nuwara Eliya. It is conveniently placed near good restaurants and a number of different shops and is not far from the train station. The Hosts were amazing! They both do very well to make you feel at home and can help with anything you may...

i was there with my family for three days in June actually and promised Ms. Nisa and her husband the hosts, this review immediately after my return. Sincere apologies for the very long delay. The old yet decently maintained bungalow is located conveniently near the NE town. If it is a quiet resting holiday from the hustle and bustle is...

Stayed for one night as part of our tour around Sr Lanka. Our driver took us here. My main concern is the high bill we were presented with at the end of our stay. Due to the weather (heavy rain and chilly) we ate at the hotel. The price was much too high, in fact ridiculous, and one of the...
