I am completely surprised that ANYONE with the ability to see and think could possibly recommend this place to anyone for many reasons. If you do not care about the exploitation of animals and merely want a a lovely hotel, this place is a waste of money.. the rooms are old, tired and honestly require work! The mattress smelled odd,... More

We stayed here with our 2 kids for US $80 a night which is very cheap considering breakfast included but keep in mind you pay for what you pay for what you get. The room was average, our toilet played up as soon as we arrived & we had umpteen maintenance men coming to fix it. Am sure it was... More

How many people get to have a swim with real dolphins in this world?? Not many. We did.... and it is a wonderful experience. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will remember it forever. Lovina is a lovely little town and the Melka resort is a good hotel. Rooms are very nice, with good amenities. Eat in town. There are lovely restaurants,... More

I do not recommend to go there. This is by far the worst place I visited in Bali. Their zoo is just a big mistake. One of the Dolphins had his flesh cut at the end of his nose but they were still training him. If you are accompanying someone to see the Dolphins they force you pay just to... More

I and my family and friends are disgusted at the state of the mini zoo and the terrible conditions in which the animals are kept. The animals are without water to drink, sores on their bodies, bored and traumatised, no stimulation and in disgustinhly dirty cages. I have talked and try to advise the owners about basic requirements but they... More

People that think that this dolphins are in good conditions are very mistaken and clearly never encountered a dolphin in the wild. People that say they don't care about the reviews about the animal conditions and so clearly don't give a thing about animals but visit an animal farm make no sense at all! Trust me, i have seen this... More

This is a very basic average hotel. So, do not expect much. We stayed in a deluxe room overnight. Deluxe rooms are in urgent need of renovation. Basic facilities like kettle, tea & coffee making facility etc are not included in the room. On request we were provided with a water kettle which wasn' t used for ages and hence... More

We stayed at the Melka in Aug 2011. The hotel had just been taken over by new owners and the staff were still being trained. We had a great time and spoke to many of the staff. We loved the little waitress called Era. Everyone was helpfull and although some of the staff had a bit of trouble speaking english,... More

I was disappointed. I READ TRIPADVISOR before, but the most negative things were about the animals, so i did not mind, but I was disappointed for the restaurant(food) and room (no sunlight and every night full of insects bites). My kids loved the animals and dolphins. It is in a process of being taken over by Chinese owners, so I... More

My family stayed at this hotel last year on my 40th birthday. We booked the room from Australia and stayed in the Presidential suite. To say we have never seen anything like it is an understatement. The first night we stayed in a White House style suite the second upon peeking into the Presidential suite across the landing we were... More
