This heritage property was christened Sukhdham – the abode of bliss by His Highness Umed Singhji, Maharao of Kota. Built by the British in c. 1870 as the residence of the Agency Surgeon, it later became the residence of Col Prithi Singhji, M.B.E., G.O.C., Kotah State Forces. He had earlier got the Kings’ Commission and served the British Indian Army with distinction. His grandsons Jaiwardhan and Harshvardhan are your hosts and they will ensure a comfortable and pleasurable stay. This mansion of dressed sandstone; arcades, terraces and balconies with intricate stone screens is an architectural gem. The 15 well appointed rooms are tastefully furnished with traditional and colonial furniture to maintain the character of the place. It has a large garden and is centrally located in the prestigious, lush green area of Kota. Sukhdham is family run and prides itself in personal service and homely cuisine.
