The place was recommended on our travel guide, it had good reviews and the website was promising. What we then found was a complete disappointment and was miles below of what we had expected. The location is nice and peaceful close to the river, but the view to the river was completely blocked by the houseboats which had docked there.... More

We were only here two nights, but it was a restful and comfortable place to stay. Rooms are large with wonderful old furniture. Staff was helpful, and informative. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. Only the bedrooms themselves are airconditioned and mosquito-free. A quiet and peaceful place to relax and overcome jetlag! The homestay staff can arrange houseboat outings on the... More

We stayed for 10 days and relaxed on the backwaters that the property looks out on. The rooms have amazingly huge beds that are carved and have little mirrors and tiles on the headboard but better still are really comfortable. The homestay is right next to a village temple and we were there during a festival. We were welcomed inside... More

I came across this homestay by accident, and I'm so glad I did! I stayed in the main building in a private room with its own bathroom and A/C. Very clean and cool with plenty of light from the windows. The building itself is quite amazing, once a storage facility for rice and coconuts, it is now fully renovated and... More

A lovely warm welcome and staff who go the extra mile to look after you. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the sunset cruise, the food and the company. We stayed in both the cottage and in the main house - the main house was far more comfortable.

The situation of this property on the backwaters is just perfect but inside it is rather grubby - the rooms are OK, not sure about the outside shower room, and the dining/sitting area is completely underwhelming. Food wasn't really worth mentioning. The view from the rear is stunning but to appreciate it we carried two chairs out onto the public... More

Our stay here was giving us a relaxing time after our houseboat trip in the backwaters. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and made everything possible for us. They arranged a sunset cruise which is included in the room rates and organized a canoe-tour the next day with a local guide. They also offered us a very nice ayurvedic... More

Beautiful 125 year old original building, set in rice paddies on the banks of the Pamba river. Very helpful and friendly staff who will organise excursions for you. River bus to Alleppy stops almost outside the door. The food is excellent and the rooms are air conditioned. If you wanta good base to explore the region, this is it.

I stayed at this homestay for 4 days and it was just magic. I didn't originally pick this place but the one I did got cancelled and this was an unplanned treasure found! This is not a homestay where one stays with a family, the owners live in Alleppey and employ small number of staff to look after their grand... More
