We stayed here one night on our feb safari and found it to be the best camp on our trip. Very clean and comfortable tents with plenty of space to move around. Hot bucket showers were great as were the flushing toilets. The staff were brilliant and food some of the best we ate on our trip! Everyone at this... More

We spent 2 nights at this camp and it was our favorite out of 3 tented camps we stayed at during our safari. The food was wonderful! Easily the best we had on safari- big portions and fresh ingredients. The camp manager was a pleasure to talk to and attentive, and the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. The... More

The previous reviews have done a good job of describing the place... just six guest tents well separated from each other, very well maintained, clean, comfortable, hot showers at request and good meals. We were the only guests when we stayed in October, 2011. The animals move around the Tarangire ecosystem, so we didn't have any "visitors" other than a... More

Having lodged in larger and expensive lodging in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, this was by far the best lodging and food experience we had throughout our safari. It was quiet, scenic, secluded and intimate. Meals were delicious! Compliments to the chef. Meals were served at a set seating time which offered a chance meet and share stories with like minded... We had such a wonderful stay here. Edwin was the camp manager during our visit, and he was wonderfully welcoming, kind, and he made it clear that our comfort was his number one priority. He welcomed us with fresh fruit juice and a warm towel to clean up after our first game drive at Tarangire. Later, he and his staff... More

Tents spacious, beds comfortable, fabulous meals, personal service, exclusivity and a wild setting with a staff which was friendly and could not do enough to make us happy. I could have stayed forever. This camp is close to Tarangire National Park and has the same animals nearby so the lions roaring at night were not a surprise. It felt like... More

This place is an under recogognized treasure. 5 of us stayed here in June for two nights and it turned out to be our favorite place we stayed in Tanzania. I was a little nervous from the reviews that the camp would be a little too rustic for everyone in our party, but it turned out to be fantastic and... More

There are only a few tents at this remote camp, all of excellent quality. We were the only people staying there, so it felt a bit lonely compared to the Tarangire Safari Lodge (where there is no shortage of people). The staff tries hard to please and they put on a unique and enjoyable Masai dance performance. Food was excellent,... More

Out of all the places seen on our trip through Tanzania and Kenya, this is by far the greatest place we stayed. You would think that being out in the middle of the vast plains, you would have to sacrifice a few comfort items, but that is definitely not the case. The food was actually some of the best I've... We chose Whistling Thorn Camp for the chance to do a night game drive and a walking safari. Food - good and plentiful (in fact, we had trouble finishing our meal!). Entertainment - a group of Maasai did a dance just after sunset. Accomodation - spacious tents, comfortable bed, toilet, warm water shower on request, no running water but they... More
